Be interesting who takes over and how that affects the team.

Default Cowher retiring
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher is expected to announce his retirement on Monday, according to several reports out of Pittsburgh.
While no press conference has been scheduled by the Steelers, sources say Cowher has informed several people of his intentions to leave the NFL club.
Cowher met with team chairman Dan Rooney and president Art Rooney II on Tuesday before driving to his home in Raleigh, North Carolina.
While he has one year left on his current contract, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports he has told friends and associates that he wants to spend more time with his family.
Cowher has been the Steelers' head coach since January of 1992, when he succeeded Chuck Noll. From TSN

He was, without a doubt, one of my favorite coaches. This leaves Dungy and that's about it now as far as coaches that I think are really cool guys.

I vote Norm Chow to replace him. Norm is due. He is the next football genious, and one of the few asisatnts that I know and like. Although, he'd be a much better fit in AZ. I think he could succeed anywhere.

Cowher should really consider Jerrah's offer of replacing Parcells. That last name of his is just so fitting for that Dallas team.

this is the type of queer crap cowboys fans sit around and think about all day.

they might want to go outside the Organization like they did with Cowher.

who knows.

Grimm is the OL Coach and Asst HC.
Whisenhunt has been mentioned also.

I want to see them exhaust all avenues in their search.
I'd like to see R.Rivera brought in for an interview.

I'll be glad when he actually retires so they can stop talking about him moving to Raleigh on the news. Enough already, we get it, he bought a house here. So what...

And he's not going to coach for fucking NC State. Give up that dream.

He might coach for the Panthers, if they ditch Fox.

Retire or resign and come back in 2008 when the Redskins and Cowboys have a bidding war for him.

I kinda thought his little scowl would go perfectly in a Raiders' jacket.

He's got the attitude, and Choakland needs someone to come in there and rattle some cages.

Cowher is NOT retiring, just moving on. He might fit in with the Boys, but I wouldn't wish the Raiders on anyone.

I think Cowher will take at leats 2 years off. I think he'll enjoy his time off. The Steelers will get their choice for his replacement though as it is by far the msot attractive job.

At least one year, maybe 2. We aren't him so no one knows.

But the miami job is very attractive as well. Great owner and great location.

If he plans to return, he shouldn't wait too long. Look at how that has worked out in recent years.
