He did...at times...last year.
Well it's one of 4 options:

(1) He quit on his team

OR

(2) He is much dumber than we've ever given him credit for.

OR

(3) He just isn't as good as he once was (i.e. losing it).

Favre: still has the TALENT to win games and be a good QB. Needs to and WILL make better decisions this year, plus he won't have to pass the ball as much as last year. Better WR's this year, too.

I'm not sure how you can assume those things. First, I see no reason to believe the WRs will be better this year. Second, has the defense improved so much that he's not going to be forced into making plays at the ends of games?

It's just like...everything is going to improve? I don't see it happening.

I gotta agree...

This changing would be as unlikely as McNabb winning the BIG game.

I'm not saying he can't get it back but just because a bunch of your guys are injuried doesn't mean you can just make bad decisions. He quit on his team more than a few times last year...that's not the brett favre we all know and love.
That's total Bullshit, name the wide receivers he was throwing to

They would have been cut in the NFL Europe

So it's ok to quit if you have bad WR?

This is where I come in and tell you how good McNabb's WR were when they were driving deep into the playoffs for 5 straight years.

Then this is where you come and say well Favre won the SB with limited talent at WR.

And then I point out how you just contradicted yourself...

Default NFL Power Rankings Pre-Week 1
I know you've been waiting for these. So here you go, the most useless ranking you could ever see.

32. San Francisco 49ers: Let's face it. They fucking suck. They've done little to improve their team, if anything. Unless Alex Smith progresses tremendously, they won't do much of anything if 2006.

31. Buffalo Bills:
J.P. Losman is the starting quarterback. That's not a good thing. Willis McGahee is going to have to have a big year.

30. Detroit Lions:
Their defense is probably going to be pretty bad. And their offense still can't do jack-shit with 4 first rounders mixed in. A solid QB in Kitna could help, but they're going to have to show me something before they leave the bottom of the rankings.

29. Cleveland Browns:
Maybe it's because I'm ignorant, but I can't name one good player on the Cleveland Browns team. The only reason they aren't lower is because Romeo Crennel tears up on Madden.

28. New Orleans Saints:
Reggie Bush isn't going to be able to save the team this year, but the addition of Drew Brees could actually make them a decent team. Let's not forget that they now have defensive playmaker Mark Simoneau, either.

27. Tennessee Titans:
They're going to have to wait a few years before anyone takes the Titans seriously. They have a playmaker in Vince Young, but he won't be starting. Give them time to re-build.

26. Houston Texans:
It's Domanick Davis' turn to be the offensive player that's injured in Houston. If Carr and Andre Johnson can stay healthy, though, they could put up some nice points. Their new blocking scheme may work out well for them. They're not as bad as their record was last year.

25. Green Bay Packers:
The Packers suffered a lot of injuries last year, but I'm not sure the returning players will be able to make up for Brett Favre's mental mistakes. He's lost it.

24. N.Y. Jets:
The Jets would be even lower if I didn't forget about their existence.

23. Oakland Raiders:
They have some big names and potential on their team. Randy Moss. Aaron Brooks. Jerry Porter. But I'm not sure they can compete with the tough AFC West division.

22. St. Louis Rams:
They haven't done well in a pretty weak division. The Cardinals have gotten better so that puts the Rams below them.

21. Arizona Cardinals:
People in Arizona should be looking forward to a good offensive showing this year. Fitzgerald, Boldin, and James are a great trio to build the offense around. I'm not sure if Warner is the answer, but he has the talent around him to succeed this year.

20. Washington Redskins:
Yeah. They added a lot of talent in the offseason. I'm not impressed. Maybe if Jason Campbell starts.

19. Dallas Cowboys:
T.O. might cause more problems than he solves in Dallas. Bledsoe is a good general to have because he has experience, but his ability is beginning to decline.

18. San Diego Chargers:
One Word: LaDainian. I don't care who the quarterback is.

17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
I have tremendous respect for Jon Gruden. But the defense isn't what it once was and Chris Simms is still pretty unproven.

16. Baltimore Ravens:
Maybe I'm the only one who is sold on Steve McNair being the savior in Baltimore. I'd rank them higher, but their division is going to be a bitch.

15. Jacksonville Jaguars:
A true sleeper here. They're on the cusp of being a very good team. How they fare will depend on how well their defense performs.

14. Kansas City Chiefs:
Larry Johnson is looking to have a beast of a season. The defense still needs help, though.

13. Atlanta Falcons:
Their defense could be one of the best in the league this year. I'm not a big fan of Vick's but he gives them a chance to win.

12. Chicago Bears:
They're asking a lot out of their defense this year. They've done virtually nothing to improve the offense.

11. Minnesota Vikings:
Brad Johnson had a great year last year and ended very well. They're going to start right where they left off and the NFC North doesn't have much to stop them.

10. New England Patriots:
The team mentality is slipping a bit here with the Deion Branch situation. Their defense is becoming less talented, they've lost important members of the coaching staff. But they still have a solid core of players and shouldn't be taken lightly.

9. Philadelphia Eagles:
Some of you will call this homerism. But the Eagles have a shitload of players returning from injury. They've improved in some important areas in the offseason. Look for McNabb to prove his doubters wrong this season.

8. N.Y. Giants:
I'd put the Eagles above them, but the Giants have two things going for them: their defense and Tiki Barber. I'll give them some respect for now.

7. Carolina Panthers:
Good defense. Balanced offense. They'll win games but their division is a toughie.

6. Miami Dolphins:
9-7 last year with a new coach. Culpepper could make Miami one of the best offenses in the league. Surprisingly, their defense will probably be the weaker part of their team this year.

5. Denver Broncos:
The Broncos were close to making a Superbowl appearance last year. They've improved simply by adding Javon Walker, but they were clearly outclassed by the Steelers last year.

4. Indianapolis Colts:
The Colts will have a powerful offense yet again, even without Edgerrin James. Their defense is improving and they were one broken tackle away from the AFC Championship game last year. I think they might be the biggest disappointment this year, but that won't be any different from any other year.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers:
They lost major parts on offense and who knows how Big Ben is going to do this year. Their defense should still be good enough for a 10-6 season and playoff appearance, but the division is getting stronger.

2. Seattle Seahawks:
Shaun Alexander is pretty much a beast. The offense will put up points simply because of that and the defense will prosper in the pathetic NFC West. Seahawks might not be the best team in the NFC, but they'll probably end up with the best record.

1. Cincinnati Bengals:
The real reason I'm putting the Bengals at #1 is because I wanted to put off having to spell Cincinnati as long as possible. The Bengals are nasty, though. A very good defense with big play ability. Their offense is even better. Two good running backs, one of the best QBs in the league, Chad Johnson, and a slew of solid receivers. The Bengals are on the prowl. Grrr.

Cant agree with you here on a few of your choices. Dont think the Seahawks are going to be that good, I think the Saints will be better then the Titans and Packers but they still wont be a power yet.

The Saints' division is way too good for them to do much of anything this year. I don't really like the Seahawks either, but the entire NFC seems pretty weak.

I think you have Cincy too low. Isn't there something higher you could have put them at?
