Default Who is the most hated in sports right now?
Aol is having a vote on who people think is the most hated man in sports right now, I didnt know where to post this, but I was just curious about how people on here would vote!

AP

Rafael Palmeiro
Age: 40

Born in: Havana, Cuba

Sport: Baseball

Accused of: Steroid use

Why people hate him:
Soon after collecting his 3,000th hit, he was suspended for testing positive for steroids. Just months earlier he testified before Congress that he had never used them.

AP

Terrell Owens
Age: 31

Born in: Alexander City, Ala.
Sport: Football
Accused of: Troublemaking
Why people hate him:
Despite his ability, he is a magnet for controversy. Since the Eagles lost the Super Bowl, he has criticized Donovan McNabb and complained loudly and often about his contract.

Since I'm an Iggles fan, I'd have to say Owens.

However Bonds would be a close second.

Lots of write in votes here......lol......these were the only two choices they gave, but I hear there is alot of animosity brewing over the fact that Palmeiro could still get into the hall of fame, when someone like Pete Rose was banned for life, different issues, but both still bringing a bad name to baseball....I agree with that part of it, it really isnt fair that he should be able to get in!

John McGraw cheated.
Willy Keeler cheated.
Ty Cobb cheated.
Gaylord Perry cheated.

Hell, I'll bet more people than not have "cheated" at some point in their baseball careers.

In MOST cases, it shouldn't be grounds for banishment from the Hall. In Raffy's case, I don't see that it should.

In Rose's case, I can see why he shouldn't be allowed back.

Most of the people that cheated, did so to try to win.

In Rose's case, it can be concluded that some of the things he did were detrimental to his team's chances of winning on certain days.

I'm not saying juicing, corking bats, grabbing players as they round third base (McGraw, I'm looking at you) sharpening your cleats to razor sharp spikes (Cobb, you're an asshole!) are ok. But at least they weren't burning their bullpens to win on tuesday because they bet on that game, and fuck the team over for Wednesday.

Very nice. The others listed are just assholes, Little has blood on his hands and isn't afraid of getting more. That guy makes me physically ill.

people call owens an idiot for the way that he is going about his buisness this year, but what little did was worse than anything that owens has ever done. the fact that little didn't learn from the first drunk driving accident, WHERE HE CAUSED THE DEATH OF ANOTHER PERSON, and then went on to get caught for drunk driving a few years later is sickening. how he is not in jail is baffeling to me. the guy is scum, and should not be allowed to be in a position to be a role model.

I'm on board with you guys on the Little incident.

He's scum of the earth as far as I'm concerned.

But as far as what guys have done concerning their sport to make them hated, he wouldn't make that list.

My thoughts exactly. As far as an athlete goes, noone is more hated than Bonds.

two: jose canseco and mark mcgwire. he knowingly allowed those two to use and abuse steroids. he is a significant reason why steroid use has become a significant issue. if he had dealt with mcgwire and canseco while was in oakland, and brought the steroid issue to the forefront then, the problem would not be as big as it is now.
