Hello everyone, I am started oil painting recently and everyone appreciated my paintings. but after finishing my painting my paint brush becomes so tight even i wash it with water immediately but they still remain tight. can anybody tell me by which i clean my paint brush so that it not become tight.

hello friend, it’s good to hear that you know oil painting very well and the other people also like your paintings.remember never wash oil paint in brush with water because brush already contain oil so that water does not remove oil and it becomes tight . use paint thinner which is odorless because it also not bad for your lungs.

hello dear, @above is right. never use water to wash oil paint brush.try to use OMS(Odorless Mineral Spirits). which is specially come in market as a thinner for removing oil paint brush.the best part of it is odorless. mostly artist prefer it for cleaning all type paint brush.

hey my friend, i’ll suggest you whenever you start paint , take a small jar with you where you kept all your paint brush in it and that jar fill with Turpenoid or Odorless mineral Spirits whatever you think is better for you.OMS is also used for making thin paints.and you also used it as a cleaner for your paint brushes. try it , after using it your brush never become tight as it happened till yet with you.
