Default Munny's and Other DIY Toys/Figures
So has anyone else done/painted/crafted Munny figures?

I picked up this one today

And my brain is now overloading with ideas! O_o Also, any suggestions on what I use to paint/draw on said vinyl figure?

Also, if you have done one of these... pictures?

A great place to look at what people've done is deviantart. Looks like a lot of fun, I'd like to give a try sometime, coming up with the idea itself almost seems like the hardest part. :P

In terms of paints, probly not acrylic or anything oil-based as both can break down plastic, and acrylic will probly scratch off pretty easily. Most likely hobby-based paints but from browsing some of the munnies on that site it seems like almost anything goes. I especially like the ones that've put some kind of hard-drying clay on top to reshape it a bit.

Post your results or ideas, I'd like to see what you come up with.

I did a bit of research online (the kidrobot site) and talked to some people at the local toy store... they recommend acrylics, spray paint, or alcohol based paints. One guy said that because the figure are vinyl that almost anything can be used on them. I'm using the Munny World pens right now on a blue mini-munny... so far so good! I'll post pictures if it doesn't turn out to be total crap

SweetPea - who are those figures to the left of the Munny?

I have a blank blue Munny that needs some love. I did a custom Tamo a while back.

I love Treeson (need that mushroom one), Scarygirl, Tic Toc Apocalypse and lots more, vinyl sure does become addictive and multiply quickly though. Blind box drives me a little crazy but it is fun getting the ones you want. I don't risk it if I don't love most of the series. With the Unicorno's I just went ahead and bought Metallo on ebay since he is my fave, but I quite like a few of those.

The figures to the left.of my munny are from Roman Dirge's "Lenore"... a wicked cute comic about a little dead girl. If I wasn't posting from my phone I would share a link.

I finished my Trikky munny last night! I was struck with inspiration and ran off to whip this little guy up! I used Uni oil-based paint pens. I'm pretty happy with it... and now I want a new one to do!

That's great! Now I want to make one, too, though I haven't a lick of talent when it comes to this stuff!

I say just get one and go for it! If you use acrylics on your first one and you don't like it, soap and water will take it off! Do it Do it Do it!

Good point! I will pick one up next time I'm by the store around here that has 'em. Hopefully I don't totally botch it!!

Of course, the problem with swinging by kidrobot is that I always end up spending waaay too much money...

OMG right?! We have a local toy/vinyl collectibles store that has some of the most AMAZING toys in there! I regularly spend $30+ every time we go. And I want a new Munny but I'm afraid I'll leave with a few blind boxes too... stupid toys

I love the unicorns, too! But the ratios on them (they're blind boxes) is stupid... the most common ones are pretty lame, too. After the 3rd set of duplicates I gave up.

But I am absolutely OBSESSED with the Treesons! So fucking adorable!

If it involves stars, rainbows, mushrooms, and/or unicorns I'm probably going to become obsessed.

OWL!!!! AGH! WAAAAAANT!!!! O_O

Our collection is getting a bit insane... my mild OCD husband is going a bit overboard But I'm going for the Futurama, Treeson, and Gloomy Bear toys. I also have a far collection of Happy Breakfast key-chains and Gloomy Bear zipper pulls. Having this store so close now is a dangerous thing!
