Hey!
I am looking for some advice on a good compact camera in the 200-400 dollar range (150-350 Euros). Just some criteria 1) High picture quality 2) Decent movie capabilities 3) Compact format (the more the better). Right now I have no clue what's the best out there? Can I please get 2-3 pointers that can get me started? right now I have a Canon Digital Ixus II which is showing its age. Thanks! |

I've just researched this for my friend, who's willing to buy a compact soon.
the Best compact within my friend's price range(which was up to $300) right now is panny's TZ5. X10 zoom, enough MPs, very good lens and IQ, and most important- VERY good ISO\noise performance. Here a review by DPReview: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonictz5/ EDIT: OH. it has image stabilization too. most important! TZ50 is about to be announced too, which is exactly like TZ5, but has wireless function which you can transfer photos directly to your computer with. Wirelessly. sounds fun. but it costs way more, so not worth it imo. |

Thanks a lot for your response.[thumbup] I've been eyeing this camera before because it seems to be very popular and now that I've read some reviews it looks ace, especially for the price. It will probably be the one I end up with. I don't need the wireless thingie so I agree it's not worth it. Thanks again!
