Photo Competition June - Sunsets

Subject: Architecture
Closing Date: Midnight, 23rd June 06 (also the date of my last exam! woo!)

Well done to Hydramus winning last month with his with his awesome shot of Oxford! This months topic is going to be Sunsets, so cummon lets see all those lovely evening skys! best of luck to everyone!

The contest is open to anyone on the forum. Don't worry about your skills - this is just for fun - but hopefully it will help people improve their photography, whatever level they're at. To aid this, feedback and constructive criticism are encouraged.

Rules (we can tweak these as necessary as the thing goes on)
- Photographs must be taken by you - no nicking them off the Web. You can use older shots if you want - you don't have to take new shots especially for the contest.
- One picture per person.
- No excessive digital manipulation (i.e. adding a more dramatic sky from another photo to your picture). Playing with levels, saturation, cloning out small unwanted elements etc is ok though.
- Equipment: Anything goes as long as the results can be seen from here.
- Give your picture a name, and provide details of how it was taken (equipment, location, exposure, aperture, any manipulation made etc) as applicable.
- Voting takes place when the contest closes. (voting for this comp will take place between 23rd-30th June)
- The winner of the contest gets to choose the next subject.
-Photographs have to be submitted in clickable thumbnail form otherwise they will not be able to be displayed on the polls board (max 200 pixels wide for the thumb nails, final image can have a max width of 1024)

enjoy!

I can't remember - but even if I did, would that cause a problem? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blink1.gif

I can't remember [rofl]

I must be getting old and senile.....

crestorinfo 06-03-2006 01:36 AM

He did use that picture.

He did not win.

I don't see why you can't reuse the picture, as it fits both themes.

However, maybe if you win a competition you cannot reuse the picture you won with.

Here's mine, as long as we are allowed to use stitched panoramas. Canon Digital Rebel XT 18-55mm kit lens.

It looks like something is wrong with the water, esp. to the right.

Heh, but I meant the color of the sea near the horizon. It just looks wrong. But nature is weird sometimes. I'm leaning towards overprocessing though.

This picture was taken Memorial weekend at Big Lake near Wasilla Alaska. It was about 10:00 or 11:00 pm. Took it with my HP 5.1 megapixal. This time of year the sun pretty much stays on the horizon like that till morning never going down
