Default The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
While waiting at the airport for my flight, I was browsing through the bookstore and purchased a copy of The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. I had heard quite a bit about the book and wanted some reading material to take with me. I started to read the novel on the plane and immediately became engrossed in the moving story. The novel centers around a young girl who is brutally raped and murdered by a serial killer and goes to her own version of heaven, where she is able to watch down on her family as they struggle through their overwhelming grief and pain over her death. I believe the movie rights for the novel have been purchased. So, if anyone is looking for a wonderful read, The Lovely Bones is high on my recommendation list.

WOW! That book (the first one) sounds really touching. I might pick it up to read on the train to work but I don't want to cry in public!

I also found this title at the airport in Mexico City and it looks like it might be interesting for an 80s child:
