Default 3D Renderings Post Your Best Works
I've been doing mega-loads of 3D work lately at work. I was curious as to how many other people here in the Digital Art section are 3D pro's or dabble in the 3D realm?

I'm going to see if there is anything not covered by a NDA or confidentiality agreement that I can post. As I do that, I'd like to see what some of you other geezers have done.

I used to dabble with Cinema 4D a while back, haven't done anything in well over a year now though, but here's a couple off my dA:

I did a snowspeeder for a laugh once...never got round to texturing (I can't texture anyway).

The montage pic was before I had done the cockpit (see later pics).

Well, I didn't make the models but I made the skins. These are from GTR and rFactor. I guess you can't consider this my 3D artwork but hopefully sometime I'll learn how to model instead of paint

Well, mine are not as great as the renders posted already (I really like the detail on that snowspeeder JimLad!), but here they are!

Aight... I'm throwing in some of my stuff. Some of this stuff is years old, but, I can't really post some of the cooler stuff I do at work for legal reasons of course.

Some of this is stuff from school, which was 3-4 years ago. Anyway, it's fun to look back, and see what I used to do and whether or not it sucks now.

Here is a link to a house my creative director was designing an addition for, and I did some very quick (less than 8 hours total work) modeling and rendering for it. Link

Edit: I took out some links.

These two were done in 2002.

This one is 2001. My 3rd ever 3d project using Cinema 4D.

When I moved into an apartment, I tried modeling all of my plants / furniture / tv /etc to plan it out. I am such a nerd. This is 2005.

I did this today. I didn't do this Audi RSQ model, it came free with a magazine. However, I have been working on a custom car paint shader, and was using this car to test it out. All of the texturing and rendering is done by me.

From 2001.

From 2001. I actually won some goofy award for this watch.

I love doing all design, but, especially 3D!

So, what do you think? Please be honest.

Man, there is a lot to making good textures. Where did you get those models? I'd like to make some skins for fun.

Sucks that I graduated form design school in 2000. I really need to learn Cinema 4D. I'm just too busy. For my clients Solidworks models are what they want anyway. These are with the stock renderer. They already had the men done so I just needed to model the table. I have some OK car designs I did somewhere.

Wow! Quite amazing. I really don't know all that much about 3D modelling, how long would it take to make a model like the cars and the Snow Speeder?

Depends on how handy you are with the tools that the 3D program comes with, and what type of modeling technics you are using.

Very good looking no doubt. I should learn how to model, but ... no time?

Which tools do you recomend for a starter?
