Some times it is safe to talk less. Just giving short answers (Yes or No) is a requirement in a court of Law in any country. There are exceptions in courts of Law featured in Bollywood and Kollywood movies where they can deviate from Yes or No answers, to giving lengthy lectures, even the movie judges listen to, awe inspired.
What I have noticed on Chennaiforums is that most members prefer a single sentence answer. There are times it may be adequate if this single sentence says precisely what you want to. I cannot guess the exact reason for this widespread habit on this Forum? It would be better to talk your mind out clearly in many words as possible to make the Forum more interesting and your self better understood. Just posting something that’s copied from websites is the easiest thing for people who cannot write their own stuff. If I were to do that many of you might leave the Forum. Even I do post articles from websites with the reason that it is some important technology information that many on the Forum may never come across and I give the source that is the link at the bottom of everything I post. If there is a necessity to discuss any thing that needs my own opinion in acceptance or rejection then I do write about it. I have seen many other forums where people make English grammar mistakes. But the best thing about them is they know they have to learn by admitting their mistakes and weakness rather than feel hurt about being pointed out. I began speaking in English when I was around four years old. I don’t say that many have done that but if one wants to learn anything (language), age is certainly no barrier. English being the Language used on this forum, my opinion is that one must not be shy or feel inferior to learn from mistakes. In Europe I have learned one thing that helped me right through out my life here. Say you “don’t know” and you will be surprised how many are willing to teach you. The moment you say these magical two words you put your self in the most comfortable Position to learn anything. Try it and you will be richer for free. Some sayings: While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior. ~Henry C. Link Mistakes are the usual bridge between inexperience and wisdom. ~Phyllis Theroux, Night Lights The trouble with using experience as a guide is that the final exam often comes first and then the lesson. ~Author Unknown |
