My knowing about it: " The little fingernail makes the little finger "longer" and when you have money in your hand you can it keep easier. (The money doesn't go away from you)

Can someone shed some light on the long little fingernail that a lot of thais seem to have? I'm always very wary of someone if I see they have one because it looks like it could be used like a small knife. Anyone know what the real reason is?

As a "picker", I believe the nail is more commonly used to pick out ear wax. Little picks are sold for this purpose.

The tiny nail is too fragile for a good Asia nose rooting!
