Why does tuk-tuk driver need the voucher.
 

The tuk-tuk driver by the name of Burcha(..3450) is supposed to fetch me to specific places as agreed but each time during the journey he'll stop awhile say he needs a drink.I wonder whether he's calling his link.
Because I've been too friendly with him,he finally make a proposal to me.
1)Go to James Tailor(told to just act around or see catalogue)
2)Chin Jewelry(rama 5 rd)(to just see )-final point for him to get voucher.
As I've said to him,"no buying,shopping" but only help him get the needed voucher.
Can I know,how much worth is that voucher and what is it use for?
He did not wait for me at the Golden Mountain despite me circling the area for an hour to locate him and then decided to walk back to Yaowarat without paying him any money.
This high chapparal driver is he also part of the scam?

tell him where to go, stay with this tour and you will end up feeling pressured or even frightened into buy some crap you dont want, dont let this ruin you stay,move to a different hotel if you are not comfortable telling him where to get off,

The driver will be able to claim a fee for taking you to the shop. 20 years ago it varied from 50-200 baht. Some shops would only pay a higher fee if the customer actually bought something. Other shops would pay if the customer looked serious, asked questions, drank the free Pepsi etc. I've no idea what they would pay today but probably not much different.

If you have an arrangement with a driver and try to push the price too low, then he can try and make it up this way. If you're giving him a fair price for his time, he's just being greedy.

Those voucher value you mentioned,quite lucrative for the driver.Never know.No wonder just dumped me at Golden Mount after his mission has accomplished.
