I guess that could be a problem. I use a manual wheelchair, have done all my life, and just had a great six weeks out there renting a place in a city in Buriram because my home with my wife in the village is not 'wheelchair friendly' at the moment. |

To discontinue the Satang coins would be a good idea. I always thought it was a pain when I had to pay my utility bill at 7/11. The only problem the utility company would probably have to reprogram their computers and so would Tesco and chain super markets. But the only thing gained by getting rid of the Satang coins would be an increase in prices... David |

Living in a country that went Decimal 38 years ago and changed from 240 pennies in the poun to only 100 pennies in the pound experience tells me that all prices would be rounded up. Besides prices are not only marked with 25 and 50 Satang, you can find prices with any number of Satangs. And if you don't want Satangs then you don't have to accept them in your change. Another thing I didn't notice or pay attention to. Looks like you have a lot more Thai experience than I do. I wished I could go back one more time but with a power wheel chair that is no longer feasible. |
