I know several blind people who use computers very effectively. Typing is no more a problem than sighted people touch typing. There is software to read out the text on the screen (usually set so fast that I can't understand it ).

yups. it is a software called jaws.
its default rate of speech is 15 percent which is way to slow for me.
so over3 years i have trained myself to understand it at faster speeds.
now i have it at the speech rate of 70 percent. i can get it up to about 80 or 90 percent too. but having it that fast is not good for editing doccuments.
if u want to learn more about it, here is the url.

It's a little off topic, but Jaws is amazingly cool compared to what my friend in Hong Kong had back in the mid 1980s. At that time you had to buy a special, very expensive, PC with its own special word processor. Now he just uses Jaws and the same software as anyone else.

Of course, it is important for web sites to comply with the appropriate standards for them to be usable...

I have to agree. Miami drivers are the worst in the world. My annual auto insurance premium doubled when I moved here from Pensacola. I am in the safe driver pool with zero tickets or accidents in over two decades. I guess I am paying for all these homicidal and suicidal types on the roads here.

Wow, thats weird, Glad I don't live there, must be all the wetback Cubans.

well father died at 0130 this morning, so no sleep last night, and the music kicked off at 0500 and the truck load of speakers is right under my bedroom window.
This funeral will last 4 full days and he will not be cremated until Thursday, for those that don't know about such things, he was born on a Wednesday so he can not go to the crematorium until Thursday because you can not be cremated on the weekday that you were born on. That day is listed on Thai birth certs.
There is going to be a truck load of food dished up during those 4 days, as his standing in the community is fairly high as he was an X headman and also was elected to the village council and served there until last year and has lived here and was born here.
They have just plugged up thru traffic on the street in front of the house with the party tents and they stretch for damn near a city block, so looks like we are expecting large crowds of people.
The son and his Bros are out by the lake getting their heads on and will be to drunk to hit the ground with their hats soon.
Thanks for letting me rattle on. and thanks to those that have sent us condolences..

oh gosh yes it is. u dont know how many times i have come across a site that is juz hell to navigate because of too many graphics and stuff. even this website, i had to have help signing up for because of that graphical text that u have to enter in order to varify that u r not a piece of software trying to sighn someone up lol.
i would like to try the chat box, but i have seen it and it is nothing but alot of buttons, and nowhere to write ur text.

hahahah very true.
a few years ago. my mother took me to bascon palmer to get my eyes checked out. and when we got there, all i heard was beeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeep, and people cursing. omg it was bad, especially in front of bascon palmer hospital.
the day that i went to get my eye surgery was even worse, but at least we had stayed in a hotel the night before so it didnt take us long to get there at all.

FiP I'm sorry for your loss. I know this is a difficult time for you and your family. I did want to say, however, that this comment was offensive to me and I hope that we don't use that in the future.

it sucks to lose someone very close to u. But you did ask a question and I did give you a direct answer and I know that I do give replys without to much sugar.
People come on here,as you might have noticed and praise the Thai for truthful, direct guestions or answers but if anyone else does it then they get hot under the collar.

Anyone that finds offense at how others talk should not talk to strangers and just form a group of friends that only say things that they like and stay in their own little world.

I find extreme liberalism offensive but I just read what they have to say and let it go at that.

Anyone that finds wetbacks offensive should get in contact with their Representative and make sure that they do something about the immigration policy's of their respective governments.

Thailand has an illegal alien problem and the foreign liberals have their hands tied as to what they can do about it, I also find it offensive that a foreigner can come into any country and tell them how to handle their internal affairs problems, and to run behind the backs of the local governments and assist said illegals.

that is a term that is old and was started in Texas where mexican illegals crossed the Rio Grand into the USA, and is a kind of misnomer for illegal aliens.

You see, I am 72 years old, have moved around the world working and just going because I have wanted to see the world since I was 15 and as such, I am not PC at all and never hope to be.

Many times these Body Collectors are famous Thai Actors or Singers who work in their free time for the agencies to make merit and get some credit for their next life.

oh wow. forgive me for saying that i cant imagine someone of ur age being on a computer. my grandmother is 87 and she has no interest in such "new electronic stuff". "i dont even know how to turn a computer or one of those little hand held phones that u can take in the car and everywhere with u on without breaking it". she said to me one day.

well anyway i juz got home from a full day at college readmitting as a student and signing up for classes.. gotta feed spooky the cat before she annoys me to death. ill be on here later.

Well the computer is the only way to stay in touch with friends all over the world, make free or cheap phone calls.
I am still active in Alcoholics anaoymous, when I can be and have helped some folks that I have never met to attain sobriety.
And my mother who is 93 and still living alone has a puter and chats and send a letter everyday.
No need of shunning something just because it is new tech.

Absolutely. The world is full of "Silver Surfers" keeping in touch with children and grandchildren that have moved abroad. We are getting stronger in the UK

Do they only collect dead bodies? I've heard they are called ''body snatchers''.
I thought they also arrived at the scene of accidents to take the injured to hospital.
I was roaring home the other night and got stopped in the middle of the road, thought it was a cop but it was one of these guys stopping me to give way for their pickup to do a u-turn.

Well this isn't the best and prestigious job, but frankly speaking, without all these ppl, who is going to do the job. Somebody just have to! Anyway, I really salute them becos i believe they really have their way to handle those corpse. It's a merit too, be it collecting of corpse or even clean them up.
