Oh well ! I love my New Jersey weather..................... We have hot Summer nights, colorful leaves in Fall, Winter wonderland in winter, and my Spring siniging birds.

But I go to Thailand not only because it is good but it is cheap. I would upgrade Thailand to a higher position, if it was a little cooler, I'm not a hot person, I know some people like the heat, but that not me.
Australia is also better than average, but nothing to rave about. The reasion I live in Australia is because my parents and my friends live here, not because I think it is better. Perhaps you have only been to Bangkok or thereabouts?

Heard of the Swede who recently died in Chiangmai due to being caught out in the cold as he was so drunk that he fell asleep outside his house? And Chiangrai (where my gal lives), at the northern most part of Thailand is even colder/cooler! And I am equally comfortable in ChiangRai as I am in Bangkok. Who cares, as long as we are together

I have heard a saying, that there is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.
I am from Scotland, (which as everyone knows is in the North of England!) and the weather is even less welcoming than England. This I think makes the Scotts more welcoming and happy than the English because we always like to take visitors into our homes to warm up with a drop of the Water of Life (Whisky).
If anyone has the chance to visit Britain, don't let the weather put you off, there are plenty of things to do on even the rainiest days and a good warm coat and pair of gloves will keep you warm till you get back to the heaven of your hosts home and can have a few glasses of Whisky to warm up with.

The winter in England is not nice, however I can not complain as we do not get to many really cold days with killer snow like some countries do and in the summer it does not get unbearably hot.In many countries people die of extremes in the weather.England does not get the real extremes thankfuly.

In London right now it is hotter than Madrid and Barbados-with blazing sun and no clouds -and it is going to get hotter this week. The rest of the country will have similar temperatures with a "low" of around 30C On Wednesday it is expected the temperature in London and area will be 34-35C. We have not seen temperatures like this for ... ooh, it must be a week at least !

Today, it is set to break the existing record -102F (39C) is predicted. Wish I was in Thailand where the most places, including bedrooms, have at least a fan, if not air-con !

pshtt...If you think England is cold why dont you come to Alaska and stay here for a few days...
Southern Alaska and GB are on the same lat. and Alaska is so much larger than GB that it does go farther north, but also goes as far south.

and it never gets to 102F
It did not in the UK either -only managed 97.3F (36.3C). Still, it broke a temperature record that has stood for 95 years.

At my home it was 110 yesterday with a heat index of 112. It seems we're heading in that direction again. Rarely do I think of Bangkok as a cool retreat...but it would be....

I love the English whether when I go there, at least I don't have to put on that greasy uncomfortable Sun Screen every time I walk out the door like I do in Australia. I hate sweating all the time in the Heat. It is easier to get warm out doors buy wearing a jumper in a cool climate, but there are no clothes you can where to cool you down in a Hot climate. I live in Sydney Australia and it is unbearably hot, for 9 months of the year, I only feel comfortable for the 3 coolest months.

England has got quite a reputation for its rainy weather, but think of the positive sides, like all the perfectly green lawns:laugh: I once was in England in summer and it was quite nice and not all that rainy. In winter I guess it can get really uncomfortable, though...
I prefer an alpine winter with a lit of snow, a lot of sun - but you have to put up with the cold here too! Only dry cold's not quite that bad, I think.

I agree! Also, England wouldn't be England without some foul weather At least you know what you will get when you come to England. Come to Austria and you can get just about any weather. Only not the weather you want.

What then, are you doing in the Land of Smiles? It sounds to me that it is at best a 2nd rated place to you, isn't it?

Or in Australia for that matter!
