maipenrai99 thanks for your answer. Unfortunately in the hospital clowning around it's not so easy, due to the particularity of circumstance and with all probability there will be tons of problems asking for permission. Probably the only way is knowing someone inside the hospital, however i am open to all ideas so if someone have any hospital to suggest i will be glad to perform there.
If there are others busker i will probably perform in the street, but i don't want to evade the law (I saw the film "Bangkok, no return hehe ) |

Quite a few years back i had a one-armed friend from the UK who spent sometime here juggling (one arm of course) at the likes of Siam Square/World Trade Center etc....
He made quite a lotta cash in a short-time, made it onto the TV etc....but after a couple of weeks the crowds started to disappear. I guess it is illegal, but i have seen other foreigners busking juggling etc.... ove the years and never heard of any getting busted - but that was Bangkok. There's a Farang who has been working as a fake beggar for months and months in Bangkok and he still hasn't got himself into trouble for frauding folks. Sikkalo: If you would like to come and put on a show at our school that would be great. Interested, send me a PM. |

How about going to a hospital? I'm not sure if they could afford to pay you, but if you go as a volunteer I assume you won't take money?
I'm sure the children in hospitals would be delighted... and also their families around who are looking after them. Of course you'd have to arrange everything ahead of time, but I think it would work. Maybe someone here knows a particular hospital where you could perform. |

Hi all, i will be in Thailand for the whole august, i am a clown, juggler, magician and i will be glad to visit some place where childen need to laught a bit. I could make a magic/clown show and teach children stuff like juggling or similar.
Is there a reference association/website for volunteer in thailand? Or also some small town where people are very poor and life is not so good, christian mission, orphanage, anything you know... I know that busking (performing in the street for money) is illegal in thailand, so i have a question for you. I plant to train myself in the beach juggling 6 balls, i will not ask for money but sure someone will stop to see me... do you think this could be a problem for the police? Thanks for your help Luca |

Another suggestion for Bangkok is Wat Suan Kaew in Nonthaburi. I've read that they are big on social justice Buddhism and I'm hoping to visit when I'm over.
Contact person for the Suan Kaew Foundation is Duangjai Thitiyaruck Tel: 595-1444 I read about it in the Bangkok Post http://www.bangkokpost.net/outlookwe...Outlook01.html |

Here's one place crying out for volunteers at the moment. If you're as handy with power tools as you are juggling, they'd love ya.
Tsunami Volunteer Centre 26/61 Moo 7 Tambon Khuk Khak Takuapa Phang Nga 82190 Thailand Email: volunteer@tsunamivolunteer.net Telephone: +66 (0) 50694280 I'm heading back there next month. It's just about my favourite place anywhere. |

how about an orphanage like this? they seem to be having visitors and volunteers regularly.
http://www.chiangmai-mail.com/162/features.shtml#hd2 here in Chiang Mai, we have a walking street market on Sundays, and there are several regular street performers (dancers, musicians - often children). most of them are Thais though, but there is the occasional foreigner too. |
