i have enough proof from his own family that he is a paedophile and intends travelling back to thailand . he is still serving time in prison but will shortly be released . i dont care if he finds out my address , i have made my contact details public ,

If he hasn't actually done anything in Thailand then there isn't much the local police can do. It is basically your word against his. However, if he has a record in his homecountry, then it is possible for you to warn your local police that he is travelling to Thailand with intent. Then maybe, they will then contact their counterparts in Nong Khai.

However, be careful putting anything in print (like you are doing in these forums) without any substantial proof. That person you are accusing could contact the police himself and you will end up in prison. What most people don't realize is that you are not as anonymous as you might think. On one of our other forums recently, someone posted the address and telephone number of a young lady saying that she was a prostitute. The mother of the young lady was angry and lodged a complaint with the local police. They contacted us and asked for the ip address and exact time of posting. To cut a long story short, that person is now going to court.

That would probibly be the best coarse anyway, I really do not think that the Thai police will do much, if anything about it, they only seem to be hot to enforce laws where money changes hands and then the hand goes in their pocket.

If he is still in prison in the UK then i suggest you let the relevant police force know of his plans regarding Thailand when he gets out, if no joy there, take the whole thing to your MP.

i think our role should only be to inform police about thoses guys. No more. It's not our job to broadcast their pic. I heard it was commun in UK to publish name and adress of criminals and pedophiles in newspapers. I am not sure it's a good mean to care them even if into 90% of cases, they are recidivist. + it must create psychose into the neighbourhood.

If this person has arrived in Nong Khai recently, have you contacted the British Embassy in Bangkok ? It could be he has left the UK illegally, being subject to a release licence or some sort of monitoring when he got out of prison which prevents him leaving his country and reporting to the authorities regularly.
If he is still in prison, contact the Embassy anyway - they may be able, under international co-operation, stop him being granted an entry visa when he does finally show up.
