Ohhh I didn't mean in an accusing manner. I know many Thai people, and most do not drink at all. I just meant in general due to the weather conditions. Thank you all for the replies though, I was not trying to sling mud at all.

68 F is about 20 C. and 0 F. is about -30C so -70 F. would be about -100C I would think, I will have to get the conversion tables from the net. and start using C due to the fact that is what is used here,, but in the states no one understands C.

My PC seems to be doing a little better but still downloading about 2.0 KB/sec and I checked the ISP speed and it is right at 400 down and 350 upload, so it is either the site or my set.

sure, but it warms you up in the short run. one of the reasons why something like 90% of the homeless are heavy drinkers back home. (well, it's not personal experience.... I'm told so.... I have drunk about half a litre of alcohol altogether in my life.) was just trying to get a new perspective.
by the way, I'm surprised how cold it is here in Chiang Mai! didn't expect it.

(IGNT, sorry about threadjacking)
Sorry I had to go quote as things are real slow on my puter tonite and most wont load at all.
I do know about alcohol as I was a very bad drunk most of my life and got sober when i was 48 years old, been sober now for 24 years and have worked in places that got to 70 deg below 0 F. and as hot as 130 deg. F.in others and drinking is no good there, but it doesn't get that cold here, we think it is cold but it is only down to 68 deg. F.
do you have trouble with the site tonite? or is it my PC?

Very interesting research. Tolerance increasing is the way many people in the USA determine who needs some help or who is on a bad path with drinking. A person who buys a 12 or 18 pack of beer and consumes it the same day, goes to sleep, works the next morning, only to repeat the cycle after work most would say has a problem.

However, if you ask the man who is drinking it he will usually tell you that it started out being a bottle or two after work and slowly increased over time. I understand the concept that limiting one's rights to anything will increase the desire for it, just consider the prohibition in the USA a few decades back. But flip the coin, are you saying that in country's such as Ireland, Germany, France & the UK there are no drunkards? My brother has seen the bars of Germany and I assure you they are quite similar to those of the USA. The same big drunk guy who can barely talk, and needs help to the restroom is in both is he not? The same brokenhearted person's trying to drown their sorrows are in every pub are they not? Too, the same moderate 2 beer kind of guy comes in after work right?
