Hi everyone!
This is yet another announcement; this time, it's about an event series that's being held throughout Thailand right now as you are reading this. In fact, I just came from one of the lectures a few minutes ago. If you are in Thailand, or will come before the end of April, this event is something not-to-miss: "More than 200 lectures and dialogues, seminars, workshops and artistic performances - 28 Nobel Laureates as well as decision makers in international politics, economy, science, culture and the media join hands with Thai leaders in all parts of society to establish creative conflict resolution programs for the growing threats of war and international terrorism." So reads the description from the website of the International Peace Foundation that hosts the event series. On that website you can check upcoming events, read the script of past keynote speeches that you missed, or just learn more about the Foundation. Admission to the events that are open to the public is free. The event I attended today at Chiang Mai University was mainly about the realistic role of contemporary science in advocating peace and sustainability. It was a very thought-provoking and enjoyable lecture; that's why I thought I will share the info here, in case anyone else is interested. The above URL has all the info you need. Have fun! |
