My most sincere apologies if this seems to be in the wrong section. I'm a Malaysian DJ who've worked quite a bit with Thai bands in Malaysia and now am going over to Thailand to work as a DJ there. I've planned this since early May 2009 but keep getting pretty lucrative offers in Malaysia plus have lots of pets and furniture so have been putting things off until now. I'm flying over to Bangkok in the morning, 24th August 2009 but my buddy said that there're no vacancies at the clubs (in Bangkok) where his friends are working so he'll be recommending me to some in Pattaya instead.
Can anyone please tell me which are the bigger ones in Pattaya serving a more international crowd? For what it's worth, I play a lot of house and hip hop plus have experience with pop and retro stuff too. |

I was offered one with good pay, enough for me to go legal and get a work permit, in Bangkok but that was in June. As said, I've worked with quite a few Thai bands in Malaysia and we get along well so they recommend me to managers / owners of clubs where they've worked before / know well.
Missed that one because coincidentally enough, I was just starting work in a new club in Malaysia on the very day I was told to go over to Bangkok for an audition. That vacancy is no longer available but the same group said they know of some in Pattaya. I've never been to Pattaya so thought if I knew some of the better / bigger clubs, I can ask them whether they know anyone working there. |

I think most of the Clubs have their own DJ's already and why would they take a foreigner who will be more expensive then local Thai people who will work for far less money.
Anyway I think the most important thing for you would be to get a Working Permit which is not easy; you should think about these kind of things much more. |
