Hi all
I asked permission of the forum regulators to post this link, it is my friend Ghoong's website. Her story is amazing and the way in which she tells her story makes it all come alive, amazing as she taught herself English from reading books and is only recently attempting to improve her spoken English. Her story is one of triumph over a situation that would be a nightmare for most people. In particular please read her guestbook and you will see how this remarkable young lady has touched so many hearts. Wheelie's website (wheelie is her yahoo chat name) Thank you to Sawatdee for permitting this link, I hope people will find inspiration in her story |

I have not signed her guess book, and after reading her story on her home page, I decided to chat with her on Yahoo Chat. Her story is very sad. She did not inspire me, because even thought she learnt how to read English from reading books, she has not achieved the most important thing in life, and that is happiness. but I think she makes the best of the situation she is in, with limited resources, Living as a quadriplegic from the age of 13 is very boring, and happiness is not easy to achieve, she maybe addicted to the internet chat and is on all day, but she has little variety in her life. I notice she has many friends from yahoo chat and these people care about her very much, they have donated her a special bed and a wheel chair. In Thailand if she needs to use her wheel chair she need to ask some one to push her around as she cannot use her hands to push it, Although she appreciates the wheel chair she has got and does not complain, I think it would be nice to see her in an electric wheel chair to give her independent mobility, As these wheels chairs cost as much as a small new car, It maybe very difficult to obtain with out a job. She told me on chat she would like to work, but as she left school at 13 years old and does not have a degree, this is also difficult. I would like to see some one who lives in Thailand, to help her with her computer skills and give her some paid contract work on the computer, Maybe she could design web pages or some thing. I think having the extra variety of not just chatting all day but also earning money, giving her more independence would improve her happiness. That is just my opinion, it does not mean I'm right, I think she puts on a brave face and does not complain, as she does not want to be a burden on her friends, it's just I think she needs help to achieve happiness and independence.
