First thai k-1 champ!

I really miss that I never picked up martial arts in my life!!! I stayed 8 years with a friend who was a black belt (some high degree) and all I could do was to see him practising from my half open eyes every morning, almost every day. I realise there is a major difference in attitude between solo sports and games. I am pretty happy & ok with the latter. But I never managed to run, do athletics or martial arts because we have to be alone when practising!! Only now, I exercise alone but it always require my mind to really really avoid suggesting a host of other alternatives.

I love Por Pramuk's style! http://www.thailandguidebook.com/iB_...icons/cool.gif

Last year I watched a fight between him and another Thai fighter in Rachadamnern Stadium and that is when I became a fan of his fighting style.

Kraus, Masato and Por Pramuk definitely are my favourite K-1 MAX fighters.

I'll post the link to the highlight of the 2004 event as soon as it's finished.

All 3 events included a Thai fighter.

jdynwa 07-05-2011 04:36 AM

i got too excited and did not read the dates on your post. I am sure I will see K1- 2004 at some point, but probably not for awhile.

MipRippoomamn 07-05-2011 04:54 AM

I hope the 2004 highlight will be as good as the two previous highlights.

Keep you posted!

BTW Por Pramuk made his K-1 debute about 2 months ago against Jordan Thai who is trained by Ray Sefo, a K-1 fighter from New Sealand.

Jordan Thai didn't have the slightest chance although Por Pramuk had to decrease his techniques, since clinching and elbowing isn't allowed in K-1 (MAX).

The fight has been broadcasted several times by Eurosport.

Quote[/b] (delawang @ July 11 2004,22:27)]Sefo's record is impressive. He beat Mark Hunt, but has two losses to Hoost. Ernesto is really in a league by himself. Is he well known in Holland?
He is becoming more popular in Holland. About a month ago Hoost was on a Dutch TV-show called 'The Weakest Link', which is a gameshow in which you have to outvote your opponents. Very tough questions, but Hoost won the game! IMO another example that Hoost isn't just one of the best if not the best K-1 fighter of all times, but also a very smart person.

Furthermore Hoost's record speaks for itself:

Tjau Min, can you post about the difference between K-1 and Muai Thai?
Yes, I can http://www.thailandguidebook.com/iB_...cons/smile.gif

K-1 is a mix of different martial arts of which most styles start with the character 'K', including Kickboxing, Karate, Kenpo, Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do.

Since kickboxing has shown to be the most effective fighting style in K-1 (most good K-1 fighters have a kickboxing origin), you could say that K-1 is based on kickboxing with some slight influences of other fighting styles.

Therefore the main difference between K-1 and Muay Thai is quite similar to the difference between Kickboxing and Muay Thai, which is the fact that elbowing and kneeing aren't allowed in kickboxing.

brandiweb 07-05-2012 02:57 AM

Delawang, here you can download a fast video clip of all Pramuk's fights.

The highlight video of the complete tournament will be available very soon.

MipRippoomamn 09-21-2012 07:05 PM

About the elbow techniques I gotta agree. However, they used to throw more elbows in a fight. Ramon Dekkers is a good example, Oh I loved his devastating elbow combos. BTW another record that speaks for itself: 175 - 24 - 1 (over 90 Ko's)

brandiweb 09-22-2012 02:02 AM

That's right, you could say Prumak's fights are only constituted of kicks. Imagine how good he will be if he's able to increase his hand techniques.

And those front kicks... I've never seen someone frontkicking that fast and so well timed at the same time. The fight against Masato is a good example of his superb technique. Masato was teeped to death!

I hope he will fight in BKK in a couple of weeks. I'll be there that's for sure http://www.thailandguidebook.com/iB_...cons/smile.gif
