The story goes that American actor Johnny Depp and actress Winona Ryder were going together for quite a long time and to show his love for her, had a tattoo put on him that said WINONA FOREVER. Well, as luck would have it, they broke up. And as luck would have it again, he was able to have the tattoo reduced down to WINO FOREVER (a wino being an alcoholic).
So, stick with the pictures. Stay away from lover's names... |

When I see western men and women with tattoos, for better or for worse, I automatically develop a profile of them.
When I see men with tattoos, I see them as rebels openly asserting their individuality. When I see women with tattoos, they are also rebellious, but it seems even more so. To me, I see them as sending nonverbal communication that they are sexually "open-minded" or unihibited (read to mean: kinky, bisexual or lesbian). That is my perception here in America and I doubt that opinion differs too far from that of others here. My question is -- if I see Thai women wearing tattoos, how far off the mark would my western profile of tattoo-wearing western women be when I apply that same profile to tattoo-wearing Thai women? |

Hi Delawang and all.
Adrian has asked is Darling mean Wat in Thailand. If I understand him right Darling mean Teerak and Wat mean Temple.I don't know that they do tattoo-ing in the Wat these days.Delawang Narak (Watch out for L and R Thai or Chinese love to use in reverse) mean Cute, good looking or what they like to use nowaday is "Cool." I went to mail my Ebay merchandise at the Post Office yesterday. ( I'm selling stuffs on Ebay.) The young lady ahead of me has her tattoo all over her back ( I mean all over) all in different colors and patterns. She look a bit chubby but I would give her an A +++ ( Scored by her tattoo-s) She wear a one piece top with no bra to show off her proud tattoo.I don't know what they call this kind of dress it is just like a bra but has the string to tie up on the back. Anyway I did sneak and peek on your profile Delawang. Very interesting that you are marry-married to the Thai lady especially from Isan. I myself from there too Surin, about some 40 years ago when I left. I have to go. I'll talk to you all later. Have fun. |

Hi Delawang.
I can read Thai and type in Thai. What I mean is my computer be able to do all of those because I have window 98 version 2.No problem to read but to type take forever because my poor skill and lack of practice. When I left Surin they didn't have Changs show yet. So I never have a chance to experience one. Last time I see Thailand that was some 34 years ago. I never go back at all period. I came here (US) the first time when I was in Thai Navy in 1965-66. That's when I had my tattoo. So see Delawang you must have more experience about Thailand more than I do.Shame on me. In a couple of month I will turn 60 hopefully to see Thailand before I die at least one time. My oldest daughter just got out the Navy and went right back to her old job with United Airlines. It mean that I can fly for free. So I have no excuse not to go right? Sorry that my English just getting worst with my age. Thank you that you try to understand me. |

Hi. Delawang and all.
Thai people live here in the US try to change from Thai name to American not because we want to be like Farung but for Farung to remember and easy to call. Let me give you the sample and I will use my name for it. My real name is áʧ¨Ñ¡Ã which it should spell Sangjugr rather to make it simple I spell Sangjack (This is my official name. on the driver license etc.). So they call me Jack in short. áÍç´ is my nick name in Thai so I spell Att or sometimes At. I maried to Chicana lady (We divorced but still live together) So sometimes I call my name San Jacinto (Hacinto) in Spanish. Now what is your Thai name Delawang.? I went to Community college a couple of year ago. I took the courses on computer (A+ Certficate, I'm an ex-Electronic technician) and some course in English to improve my Grammar and spelling (Forget about the accent I never can change) I didn't get very far on English class. It just against the way I use to used all my life so I gave up. One of theses days I will tell you what had happen to me on that day. By the way I log on to Thai chat room this morning. I didn't say much because of my slow typing. So I just watch them talk. It seem to be a lot of fun. Did you ever try? |

Hi Del.
I assume that I can call you Del right? I usually busy a little bit on the weekend that's why I didn't get back in here to reply. See- I sell at the swapmeets on the weekend and sometimes on Wed also.(Beside Ebay) After I closed my business in 1996 I never did not do anything what they call a real job. Now even worst (Or better) I don't work at all for no- body but myself as I did mentioned above. The stuffs that I don't sell on Ebay I take to swapmeet to get rid off or vice versa. I'm very poor person because I never save anything for the rainy day but I can live the way I live (Slow pace) without working at all. I just can't sit still that is my problem. I went across the border many many times in the past. It has been such a long time at least 4 or five years since the last time that I went there. People over there especially around the border are poor (Like me). I heard it's much better if you travel deeper into the country. You can't compare to the US. I don't know about Thailand because it was such a long time since I left. Have a nice day. |

Good evening Del.
Sorry for the mistyping it should be 1996 instead of 1976. That make the world of different. When I close my repaire business then I work mostly from home. I have been work here and there but never hold on one job very long. I guess because I use to be the boss it is very hard to take the order from somebody else. So that was it. I did go back to Chicago 3 years ago( I used to live there from 1973 to 1989) try to get the business going again but it never happen. So I'm back to the Golden State again and here I am. |

I stayed away from Tatoos because I am scared not to like them one day. But if someone likes them guess its fine.
In my part of the world, a generation ago, people would tatoo the name on children's arm. Everyone from that time has it. A way to protect them by name if they get lost!! That's what I was told. |

That is so nice to hear. Actually, I've loved to work in Bangkok, but I got no opportunities at all. I am a Filipino and I dont know how foreigners work or do they get the chance to have a job in Thailand. Goodluck to you man! How old are you by the way? Hope to see you in Thailand in case I got the chance to visit your country again.

I have four tattoos. Mine are all located where I can keep them concealed for business purposes. I have one on each side of my upper chest and one on each upper arm. They are a wolf, a bear, an Indian (Native American) Hunter with a drawn bow and arrow, and an Indian Medicine Man. I was going to have a large one done on my back, but I think now I have other priorities. My wife's family in Sahatsakhan were very interested in my tattoos. They asked many questions and did not seem to think badly of me for having them.

This is not a pro- or anti-tattoo posting, but just a word of advice to anyone thinking of getting a tattoo--be aware of the increased risk of hepatitis transmission! Yes, it does happen. So, wherever you go, be careful that it be done under the cleanest of conditions.
Sorry to dampen the tone, but if my advice saves one person from getting Hep C, then it was worth it... |

Persionaly I think Tattoos look ugly, they deface the appearance of the human body, and unless your skin colour is very light they look to dole and boring, they go out of date like fashion, you cannot get ride of them if you grow not to like them, some people can falesly judge what type of persion you are. If you want a certain look or image I would suggest buy some new clothes, get your hair done and buy some jewlery so at least if you want to change your immage later you can.
I think a tattoo are so boring as your style will never change over a life time. |

27? Did I understand it right? Am just starting to learn the thai language.
Anyway, thanks for that. But for sure, I will just be staying in Bangkok. No chance to go southern part - I've been to Bangkok twice, both are weekends only so as not to consume more vacation leaves. I am also in the field of Information Technology - I work as a Systems Engineer here in Singapore. Speaking of teaching english - you can search for this - TEFL - Teaching English as a Foreign Language - sounds interesting! |
