Even celebrities love Thailand, check this out

Jolie adds Thai tattoo

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has gone under the needle again on a trip to Thailand, having a traditional Khmer tattoo etched on her shoulder.

The Nation newspaper reported the tattoo, which features five vertical rows of Khmer script, is designed to ward off bad luck and to avoid accidents.

The Tomb Raider star is a frequent visitor to Asia and last year she adopted a young boy from Cambodia and donated $100,000 (£62,822) to a Thai refugee camp.

She also has a selection of tattoos, including one with the name of her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton, which she hid with make-up when she attended the Bafta film awards in London in February.

I'm an old Thai dude that have a tattoo of my own. One thing I can tell you is I'm never regret one bit. I probably won't do it again not because I'm ashame of what I did but because I'm too old to do and it is quite a bit expensive nowaday. When I did then (1966) it only cost me $9.00 but again $9.00 then was a lot of money too.
As far as how it will effect your working environment in Thailand I can't answere you the question. I think it will or it won't is up to your kind of work. I was in Thai Navy at that time and I didn't give a hoot of what they said as long as it didn't against the rule and regulation. Which it did not.
Go to Thailand and spend sometime there and see how you'll like and how well you will adjust to your new world there.
My Kids ( I have 2 daughters 30 and 28) They are Thai and also American like you are. Them 2 never been in Thailand.I hope some day they will/Me too.

Hi Delawang.
Nice to know you and very please with your quick response and a warm welcome in here. This is my first time here ( 2nd time to be exact.) Matter of fact I'm not even see everything what you've got in here yet. I will eventaully.
Talking about the tattoo in the old day ( I mean the very old day long long time ago) most people did it because their superstition. They believed the tattoo will help protect them from whatever bad thing that will happen to them. I think it just the phenomenon but I won't deny it. My dad did it all over his body. He was a cop that went to war call Indochina war. He make it back save and sound. Again who know because of the tattoo that save him.Maybe he just a plain good and a brave one.
I did it because the look of it. Somewhat I thought it look macho to me. I did it when I already in the navy at downtown San Diego. One of my girl told me that I look like an idiot. I think she just jealous (Envy) of me because she can't has one. Then woman don't do this kind of thing but now man and woman are all alike. No body seem to care anymore.
Well nice to talk to you. If you let me talk I can talk all night.(By the way it is 3:30 A.M. PSToverhere) You know the old folks they got nothing to do but yap yap yap or mumbling all day long. Like myself for instance.
Good night or I should say Good day instead.

Quote[/b] ]how do they look in say 30 years time? That is, do they go all blurred and do the colours fade? Interested to know.
How long tattoos last in perfect condition actually depends alot on the tattoist's skills. How is tattoo is able to maintain colour is that it is located between the dermis and epidermis layers of the skin.

So a good tattoist able to insert ink directly into this area and not too deep or shallow will result in a long-lasting tattoo. A tattoo too deep will cause natural oil in the body to water and blur the tattoo. A tattoo too shallow will wash out after a few years.

Anyway to intensify a fading tattoo, you can actually get enhancements. Going to a tattoist to tattoo on the fading spots in your original tattoo.

Are you gonna work in Bangkok? Or just a holiday trip?

Are you a Thai or just half Thai?

Thanks for answering my curiosity.

Sorry, got no idea about tattooes in Thailand. I will ask my Thai friend, if he can reply fast, I'll post it here.

Cheers!
