Haha. Yes, I feel that I am indeed addicted to kendo and iaido.
I'll focus on walking from my tanden and keeping my balance equalized between my feet, and keeping my posture straight where ever I go. Or when I'm at a desk or table I'll practice pushing forward with the balls of my feet for iaido. I also find myself bringing out my right hand when I pass people throughout the day, heh. Go kendo. |

I know there have been similar threads in the past, but we get new people on this site every day. So does any 1 feel addicted to kendo? Do you feel your self practicing your foot work waiting in lines? Do you do Suburi every day? Do you plan on having kids just so you can have more kenshi to practice with?

Whenever I sweep I do the footwork and I try to do 1000 suburi a day but If it's really hot I sometimes forget to do it. But if the weather is good I take some breaks to rest and spen hours (mostly shomen-uchi as I'm still a beginner so no kewl stuff 4 me) doing diffrent cuts.
All my friends call me the "Kendo Freak" (not in a good way too). However, that is Improper as I do not do kendo but insted I do Batto-jutsu and Kenjutsu |

I'm only a beginner (just into my 3rd month) but i find myself wanting more and more kendo after every training It's very addictive. I do remember myself visiting KW forums everyday for hours on end during my 6-month wait to audition to get into the Kendo Beginner Class here... :P We only have 2 trainings a week for beginner... Can't help but wish that we had more so that I could train >_< . The apartment that I live in is horribly cramped and I can barely swing my shinai back without it hitting something. My senpais don't recommend us practising outside (Below the apartment, park etc.) just in case ppl freak out and call the police, so I can only practise in a very confined space at home. The only place left is my school, where I can practise in my classroom after lessons end.... but I've never exactly gotten up the nerve... o__o;; |

Yeah, slowly but surely I'm becoming addicted to kendo. Even at work I keep checking the forums and when I'm at home, kendo is usually all I talk about or think about. That and the bills my parent's have been seeing lately have convinced them I'm becoming a fanatic. Even my relatives and co-workers are starting to think that I might flip out and start practicing kirikaeishi on them. With the amount of time we put into practicing and taking care of our equipment it's hard not to become additcted.

-_-; It doesn't help that I have practice four times a week...it still doesn't feel like enough. My apartment ceiling is now covered in big, blue dots from suburi where my shinai tip has hit, I find myself standing in kamae while waiting for the streetlight to change...and I am now officially poor. ...gotta love Kendo...heheh...heh...
