Konnichiwa fellow 'KWF'ers! *bows*
My name is Brad, but I generally go by the nickname Skippy (if you really want to know why, feel free to send me a private message and I'll be glad to share). I am 20 years old and currently on summer break from classes at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL. I have been interested in just about all apsects of the Japanese culture since about the 6th grade. I have always wanted to try kendo, and iaido has more recently become an interest of mine. Either way, Japanese swords and techniques are very interesting to me. I found out about local kendo through chance. A friend of mine is friends with a family who is hosting a Japanese exchange student. The exchange student was at my friend's house when her host mother came to pick her up to take her to kendo practice. After having a short conversation with the woman, I found out that there is a local kendo club that meets on weekends. So, thanks to this encounter, I am starting iaido and kendo lessons this coming weekend! Well, I will stop babbling and end it here. If anyone wants to know any more, feel free to ask and I shall try to respond ASAP. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to an enriching, fulfilling experience with kendo and iaido. Domo arigato gozaimasu. *bows* Skippy (DaStudent) |
