Default Shaving Razors
I thought that maybe this would be an ineresting topic.
So, What do you use to shave? The poll only covers shaving razors but I would also be interested in what type of lather do you use and why.
Soap?
Gel?
Canned Cream?
Fine shaving Cream from a Badger Hair Brush?
Nothing?
Shaving is for pansies?

I use a double edged razor and canned cream cuz finding good cream and brushes in this country is quite difficult.

So, guys (and gals I suppose) feel free to contribute.

Mach 3 Nitro with shaving gel. I never really got what aftershave was used for.

Mach 3 Turbo ... shaving gel as well

Now clarification to Nanikure (doesn't that mean 'what is this?' ?) aftershave is used as anti-septic (thats why it has high alcohol content), because when you shave you have little wounds from the blade (not visible to the eyes); thats why it hurts when you apply it on after you just shaved. To make it sell, they add fragrance to it, slap the brand name on, and charge a lot for a bottle ... so wear them, they're good for you

Maybe it's because I like old stuff (I'm a neurotic collector of things, stuff, as well as junk), I use an old razor that takes double sided razor blades, and it comes in an old italian soap box from the 40's.
I use a nice stiff bristle brush to work up a lather on my big ol' lump of hemp oil soap (nice lather, AND keeps my skin smooth and beautiful).

I like the combination because if you're a silly bugger like me you can start the day blowing bubbles out your nose before you shave.

Why wouldn't you?

Yeah, go double sided razors. Right now I have a cheap old Gillette one but I,plan to upgrade it soon. My only grtipe is that if you cut yourself then boy, you do cut yourself.

PS How could I forget the wax?????

I use clippers since that is the only thing that I can use without getting infested with razor bumps.

I just got converted to using mach 3, i was a Sensor folower before, i use either gel or caned cream, the thing is i don't shave everyday. As for the after shave i still use my father's favorite, Aqua Velva classic ice blue with one difference mine is a skin conditioner gel.

edit: sometimes i use my electrical clipper

I use a norelco-style electric. It's fast, easy, much cheaper than buying razor heads constantly, and shaves closer than with a blade going with the grain - as I can't go against the grain with a blade - tears up my face something fierce.

I own a straight razor, but I've only shaved with it a couple times. It's really not fun - too much maintenance - if it's any amount of dull it will almost put you in shock by the end of the shaving session.

Hank.

I made a mistake on my voting. I use a Gillette razor with shaving cream. My wife got me a nice after shave ointment from L'occitane.

I use a mach 3 with gel. But I try to shave once every 3 days, if I shave every day then I'll end up within a month shaving my self 2 times a day

The myth that hair grows thicker when you start to shave is just that, a myth.

mach 3

and living in the dorms doesnt give me the luxury to have shaving cream.

just a side to a side note though. Shaving without cream is like getting kicked in the nuts...for your face.

You could always use conditioner. Although I suspect you wouldn't have that if you can't have shaving cream. I use a razor (on my legs, not my face) that has built in shaving conditioner. I forget what it's called though.
