Default Mumeishi 3's, London
Hi there!
Last weekend was the Mumeishi 3's International Taikai in London. I wasn't there myself unfortunately, but I've always enjoyed it in the past. So,
Who won this year?
Who of you went?
How was the after party?
Any good stories to pass on?
Would love to hear, cheers!!!
Remco

London City Club (Yanai Sensei's) Team A (Basi, Oura, and Gibbo) won against St.Etienne in the final. Congrats!

All of UCL were there in the bling new team armour!

Congratulations!
Especially to beat St. Etienne in the finals, must have been good shiai to watch. What about the ladies?

Hi RemCo

I was there... I was in the Portsmouth B Team that was knocked out by London City A in the prelims...

Ironically, our Portsmouth A Team was knocked out by St. Etienne A.

The London City v St. Etienne final was stunning.. absolutely amazing Kendo, especially in the final bout between Gibbo and Francois Blachon...

But there were dozens of excellent bouts throughout the day... All of the semi-finals were amazing. The other two teams in the semi's were St. Etienne B and Alessandria (Italy).

This was my first ever tournament and I absolutely loved it... Great day...!

The Ladies' individuals was won by Kaneda-San and the runner-up was Michaela Hell.

Cool, well done everyone! I heard my old Oxford dojo got knocked out in first round as well... Too bad, but would have loved to be there. Maybe next year. I'll bring my own bling bling dou as well (although hopefully it won't be very bling anymore then)

Also... Hobbit had a remarkable bout against Francois Blachon from St. Etienne... see you soon in Portsmouth Hobbit-San...!

Hi Remco. Oxford A managed to get to the quarter finals, and then lost by a single point to St Etienne B. We had 3 teams plus 4 girls in the Ladies, and everyone gave it their best shot.
Have to admit Gibbo was absolutely on fire...

I was at Mumeishi's in the 15-16s. Lost my match, but it was still a cool experience. Seeing that guy fighting with two shinai was new thing for me aswell! This was my second taikai, I was at the Open in september aswell.
