Default Horrible Movies
My list is topped by "Troy" and "Velvet Goldmine" (the former actually supplanted the latter as my most hated of all time upon its release).

What makes a film bad enough to be set aside for special attention? Can you think of any films that were so bad that they actually made you angry? Do you hate a bad film more if it opened to general acclaim? Is the simple inclusion of Ben Affleck in the cast enough to justify a film being deemed "bad" by default?

Whadya reckon?

Not quite, Dogma and Mall Rats were good films.

A film I despise with a passion is SPICEWORLD. That is quickly followed by any film with Steve Martin in, who seems to be typecast as a c#nt.

If you liked Mall Rats, watch Clerks. Worst movie I heard was that John Travolta movie invasion earth or something like that. I got sick of it after seeing 15min of it.

His recent films have all been bad. He's good in "The Spanish Prisoner", though. And "The Jerk" is a masterpice.

"Battlefield Earth." I actually have a morbid curiosity about that one...

He's made some stinkers. In particular, "Shining Through" would be on my all time worst list. In additon, he's the poster boy of the erotic thriller genre--a strong conetender for worst movie genre.

Kinda like "The Star Chamber," though.

Ultraviolet.
Only two reasons to see.
Mila Jovovich.
The sunglasses.
If you hate both, it's a grand stinker.

Reading mission earth, and battlefield earth, didn't inspire any interest in his religion, if L Ron was the answer, the question must have been pretty dumb. But worst movie, most films by Stephen King. Yes the shining was good, (thanks Jack), Cujo was ok, (Good Boy, here's a cookie). Misery wasn't too bad (ouch!), and Salems Lot kind of spooked me (when I was 6), but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I loved "Roxanne" and quite liked "LA Story". "Parenthood" and "Father of the Bride" were OK comedies. My kids liked "Cheaper by the Dozen", it wasn't too painful to sit through. "Shopgirl" was pretty good, I think depending on your mood. He's had a few clunkers ("Three Amigos" comes to mind) but overall I like him.

For bad movies, nothing equals "Nine Deaths of the Ninja", a collection of Sho Kosugi outtakes packaged together as a movie. I'm sad to say I paid money to see it in the theatre. We knew it was going to be bad going in (hey, we'd seen "Ninja Turf"), but had no clue just how bad it could be.

Worst movie I've seen in recent memory was "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back". And I'm talking as a fairly big fan of Kevin Smith here.

I have seen Clerks, Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I quite like Kevin Smith's work.

For a wank film: Species 2?

Actually one film that I saw that I hated with a passion recently was Moulin Rouge (if you spell it that way): contrived toss filled with more Jazz Hands than I need in a life time.

Or how about Garfield the Moive? That is also pish.

The only movie I've flat turned off in recent memory was Boondock Saints. Gawd that was horrible. Fifteen minutes in, and I couldn't stand all the cliched acting, dialogue and what-have-you. Worst $4 I ever spent at Blockbuster. I rate it below even Showgirls.

Velvet Goldmine was great!

Most recently I saw "The Marksman" with Wesley Snipes...lousy story, props etc...omg...it was so horrible...

Star Wars Episode I and II...III was crap too but next to I and II it was good.

as i tend to avoid movies i think i'll hate altogether, i guess my "worst" pick is sort of tame, it's that damn Will Ferrell disaster "Kicking and Screaming," it made "Troy" bearable by comparison.

Worst movies ever,

Titanic - Although it had a great twist at the end, The boat sinks! Wow who'd a guess it. Shi*e of the first order. Minus 500 stars.

Requiem for a dream - Bag'o'shite, Bunch of "cool" druggies have a bad time because they spend all their money on injecting their eyes with hallucinogenic love drugs. Guy you don't care about loses his arm, cute girl out of Labyrinth has to put stuff up her ars* for cash. Now 2 hours of that would have been a movie and a half but no they had to be all "cool" and send a message to a disenfranchised generation. Utter pish. Minus 305 stars, even with that cute chick out of Labyrinth.

Closer - Brit chick flick with that fella out of ITV's Chancer in it. Bunch of London rich kids have a tragic time with their relationships. Had they just stopped shag*ing everyone and then moaning about it their lives would have been much easier. Went to see it with a lady friend whom was so traumatised by the experience that she was forced to join me in a violent drinking session in the vane hope that we could forget the horror that i had just forked out a tenner to watch. Total W*nk. No numbers currently availble that represent how many stars this movie has'nt got.

It's hard for me to disagree with anything... I find something I like in everything. What really ruins a movie for me, especially newer releases, are the witty jokes that are being thrown left and right into movies by producers etc! Like "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest and That Guy With the Octopus Head!" That movie, even if it was made by Disney, should have been pure action in my opinion, but they threw stupid witty joke after witty joke in and destroyed the entire thing.... I think even worse than Pirates II was this movie... the version of the movie on this site pretty much sums up my feelings towards it....

(might not want the little kiddies to read this) Recent, most hated movie....

Revenge of Druken Master! Although Awooga Guy thinks this film is so bad it's awesome. Starring the one, the only Johnny Chan.

You can buy it here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...v=glance&n=130

Amazon UK have it too. Beyond that Awooga Guy would refer people to the film he mentioned at the start of the Horror Movies thread...

That is all.

My lords, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I offer:

Waterworld, "starring" Kevin Costner

for judgement.
