Default TV Remote!!!
Ok, one for the conspiracy theorists here! My TV remote has disappeared... completely! The paranoid part of methinks that someone hid it, or took it to work with them, or something stupid like that.

what is it about TV remotes that makes them disappear? Its so annoying. Especially as gloria hunniford is on tv (gaaaahhh), and i now have to get up and alk over to the TV to change channel. i've looked everywhere for it, it always happens.

do TV remotes sprout legs and scuttle under the sofa? do they turn invisible? whats with them?

Remotes do have a habit of crawling under newspapers and anything close to them. They practice this from a very young age. You can try to keep them hostage in some container but they always find a way to escape. Even when you tape them together.

Maybe you can practice your tsuki on the tv to change channels and turn up the volume? The missing remote may get scared and return to its rightful spot.

i would, but its too far - i'm thinking of taping two shinai together to tsuki the tv into submission.

mind you, if the remote gets too scared it may just stay hidden

i'm starting to think the only way to find it will be to tidy up, groan!

Under the cushions on the couch. Even if you've looked there a dozen times, guaranteed, that's where it'll show up.

If you decide to tidy up then block all the exits. The remote may try to make a run for it....

Hehe,

I don't know how many times I've had to hunt down my remotes. I have one for the TV, one for the stereo, one for the DVD, one for the VCR, and one for the satellite receiver. If I could train my cats to hunt them down, maybe that would help.

I usually find them tucked in the crevice between the armrest and the seat, although sometimes, they get lost behind and/or under the sofa.

There are little "organizers" on the market that let you tuck the remotes into pockets and the whole thing drapes over the armrest (the remotes go on the outside of the armrest, there's a small sandbag on the inner part that acts as a counterweight)

Maybe the manufacturers could come up with a "find remote" feature on the TV, so that all you have to do is push a button on the TV and it will cause the remote to beep or chirp or make some recognizable sound until you find it and cancel the process. My telephones are like that, why not the remote?

I don't usually have a problem with that as I have a spot that I always put the remote in (end table next to where I sit). I always return it to that spot after using it, so it's always there when I look for it.

But than I'd have to get off my ass and hit a button on the T.V., which ruins the point of the remote

Do you not see my dear that the remote it's self is a conspiracy?? The goverment went through many-a-scientist trying to figure out how to make these things 'magiacally' disappear, this technology is still unknown to us.
You may be thinking "Why?? That would be rather retarted of them." BUT OH HOW WRONG YOU ARE!! Everytime you lose the remote what do you do? You look for it right? THIS IS WHERE IT BEGINS! Everytime you look for it you are further tethering yourself to be dependant upon your T.V., This is the household brainwashing device of the world mind you.
God forbid you lose your remote and you shrug it off and do something productive, no, you must spend hours hunting down your remote so you can satisfy your urge for the brainwashbox.
Think about it, it's the equivalent of someone dangling a cigarette just out of reach of a smoker that REALLLY needs a nicotine fix.
This has been my conspiracy theory for the day, thank you.
Btw, the gov't is out to get me, this post will be deleted shortly and if you did read it, expect a little red dot to follow you around you room to ensure your silence ^___^
