So I've been saving up money from my job/earnings/ since I can ever remember and recently I had found out I have about 30k~ that I can spend on my new car ^^
The problem is I'd like a nice car that will last me a long time ( Im really into sports cars ), but dont really know that much about cars. I drive a "bucket of dung" right now so im really excited for this new one. I've been looking into: Lancer Evo Scion TC 350z Acura RSX Civic SI if anyone has the cars listed can you tell me how you like them? And another thing, I want manual trans on my car, but I heard if your going to get a new car later in the future, its hard to sell a car with manual trans? But I heard Auto trans on a sports car is a waste?o.o thanks in advance |

As far as the ones you've listed, I'm not familiar with the Lancer. I think the 300Z may be out of your price range. Personally I'd go with the RSX (my brother has one), but I wouldn't turn down the Civic Si either. Good luck, RC_Kenshi |

If it's a sports car, I think it's a wash which transmission you get. Buy the one you like, this is not a rational purchase anyways. 30K what? US dollars? In the US or Italy?
If US dollars in the US, I'd personally stretch the budget a little and buy an S2000 or the 350Z convertible, but I like convertibles. |

If I was going to pop up to 30K on a sports car, I'd go with the RX-8 myself. Great reviews, and the one that I've driven was fantastic. |

I loved the one I drove (my neighbour had one) but I hate the local Mazda dealership. R&T (or C&D, forget which) did a long-term test that showed they were still shaking out some bugs. Plus, I still want a soft-top. Hadn't read the long-term review. Not enough open country around here for a body to enjoy a rag top. Too many people and too much construction.

If you are liking car, I invite this site; http://toyota.jp/ sorry it's in Japanese, but if you click around you will see many new cars which is not available in America.
Maybe in a few years we can see them but they are really different! Very exiting for car otaku. |

i really don't mean to be a car snob here, but man, if you want a real sports car for $30,000 or less, my suggestion would be a used Acura NSX (i'm not sure if they are available in italy though) Year: mid 90's, mileage 75k to 100k, 270hp V6, cost: approx. $28,000 USD. seriously the best bang for your buck. this car handles so well, it's unreal.
this guy drove one for 1000 miles and wrote an article on it: http://philip.greenspun.com/materialism/cars/nsx.html if you are "into sports cars" there is no contest-get a 5-speed (or 6 if you can ) |

I have to agree that auto trans is a waste on a performance car, and it's definitely less fun to drive. BTW Durability-san, where exactly are you located? Are you IN Italy or are you an Italian somewhere else? This would help us with your choices as the availability of some models may not be worldwide. Cheers!

I agree with Awooga Guy. Problem is, they're tiny as shit. I don't know if they've changed anything with the new ones, but I barely fit in the old exige. I know the exige is spartanized, but it's the same thing, essentially. Crawling into your car is only fun the first few times. That is all. |
