awright, its been a while since i posted anything relovant on the forums, i apologise for that. now for the question.
I am a boy who enjoys sleeping on the floor. Dont ask me why, its just my prefferance. further more, my room is "decked out" with alot of swords, and wall scrolls, plus my bed has covers with japanese symbols on it. Now now now, im not talking about "fung shway" orr what ever, I just enjoy the japanese feel. witch means that i would like to buy 1. a futon (kake) 2. a shoji screen 3. tatomi mats for my floor 4 some more japanese clothing (like a night shirt being a hoppi coat) does anyone else.... uhhh do that sort of thing? or am i the only one? |

I too have tatami, shoji and futon. Also a nice thick old style yukata to sleep in during winter time.
Anjin matey you have to tie them up with ropes and hang them from the rafters man. Speaking of that I know a Sogo bujutsu ryu down here that specialises in hojojutsu (tying up with ropes). If the typhoon doesn't hit I'll be watching them very closely at the Ebmu on Sunday. I've yet to see an English style country garden in Japan. |

With a futon, there's nothing to attach the fluffy handcuffs to. |

Beginner!!! I own a futon... but I also own a better imagination!!! use two sets of handcuffs and the slats of the futon... or... get down to Anne Summers and buy some tickle ties... they fit round the slats of the futon allowing you to tie/be tied up to your hearts content!! then you can use the blindfold and strawberry/chocolate body paint you brought at the same time, working your way to... I think I'll stop now!!! |

Umm.. doesn't this belong on the Smutty Samurai thread?
And yes, I'm another try-hard with assorted Japanesey things. I would love a shoji screen but don't have room (even though I have a large room, but that bogu bag plus furniture really takes up a lot) for one. I do have a beautiful cherry blossom on rice paper wallhanging that an ex gave me. If I don't end up with my friends' spare double bed I'm prolly gonna get a futon. There's a specialist shop here that only sells futons I have two little samurai statuettes, a bamboo candle (which unfortunately is coconut scented), two of those mini indoor water fountain things with rocks, a rice paper lamp which is gorgeous that I managed to get cheap at Target of all places, my sake set is on display, as is my green tea set and my kimono dressing gown and my hakama and kendogi are hung up near the door so they don't get creased in my over crowded wardrobe and my weapons are also right near the door in the corner. This is all in amongst my non-Japanese, martial arts crap, like my medieval re-enactment stuff and paraphanalia. Damn, my room is cluttered. Especially when my bogu's airing. I need a bigger room. |

Talked about cramped - i have a bookshelf, chest of drawers, second narrow chest of draws with a narrow mirror, cheval mirror, wardrobe, tv + cabinet, computer desk & chair, bed (though at least the bed is small, it's an extremely comfortable couch with no back or sides about the size of a single), big heavy storage box that I use as a bedside table, another wicker narrow drawers thingy that contains mostly books, a large precarious towering pile of storage boxes and a big oil heater. Oh, and I'm a slob just to make it more messy and crowded Somehow I can always find room to air my bogu
Funny how one can live in Japan with Japanese wife and still not be allowed to do the whole thing... Think of it this way, if I weren't a medieval re-enactor I'd prolly get annoyed if my partner wanted things like coats of arms, wallhanger broadswords and battle axes, coats of armour and tapestries around the place. It's like the saying I suppose "the further away from Ireland, the more Irish the Irish get". A lot of people here get t-shirts, bedspreads and the like with various Asian characters on them where as over there they get (so I've been told) stuff with English words on them, like BISCUIT. The culture isn't ours so it excites us. |
