Default SEUSKF website feedback please
Ok.. at the recent SEUSKF tournament in Nov. Maeda sensei asked me to get an 'official' SEUSKF web site together. Nothing fancy but we haven't had one and we wanted to get a central area for information etc. Anyways, I posted a preliminary site the other day and have been getting some good suggestions from members but I thought I'd throw a request out there to others for suggestions also. The web site is at:

http://www.seuskf.org

Take a look if you want and if you have any comments, suggestions, etc let me know. You can email me from the link on the web page, post stuff here or send me a message via KW. I'm looking for ideas and comments about what different people like on a web page, don't like, good kendo related links, and that sort of stuff.

Please note the site is still being put together so not all dojo info is up yet and so far I have not received any pics to post either. What I would like to do is have a site that is not too hard to maintain (well, not take too much time I should day..lol), has information and stuff that is valuable not only to SEUSKF members but others as well. I'd like to put up some stuff like advice on bogu buying and maintenance, waza tips from the higher ranked sensei in the SEUSKF or maybe a monthly article written by a different sensei each month.. maybe highlight a different member dojo every month.. stuff like that.

So although it is still a bit spartan right now I see the site filling out in the weeks and months to come.

Thanks for your input!

don't think i am an ass for pointing this out. .. ... but Maeda sensei's name was misspelled on the History page.

i really like the quaint yet fluid appeal of the site, great job.

Nice going and thanks for your effort !!
- I would love to see more photos !! Not necessarily video files since it requires lot of man power.
- Event section. Please make a link so that we can find out where we can get more inforamation about the event.
- Menjo information. Since it takes longer time to get the menjo, it might be good idea to inform members about the menjo status.

But other than that, great work !!

Hello,

If you could, please add Maryland to your list of affiliated states. The Annapolis Kendo and Iaido club http://www.tatnet.com/kendo/ is located in Maryland and soon Baltimore Annapolis Kendo (website coming soon) will be as well.

Thank you
Ash

All good suggestions.. keep 'em coming. Thanks for the typo alert on Maeda sensei's name Masahiro. I didn't bother to check that page as all that text was sent to me by Strawn sensei... just goes to show I should always check everything regardless of source

I'll be working on the site and adding things people suggest as quickly as I can.

Add Soth Florida Kendo Club to your dojo page.
-Website: www.southfloridakendoclub.com
-Sensei: Frank Nieves

I only skimmed through the sections, so I've got no comments on the information, but I do have some minor aesthetic suggestions.
-Give the pages individual titles, so that it doesn't show up as "index" in the browser window.
-Get a site banner. Having the federation's name typed out in a box doesn't look good.

Ignatz... Strawn sensei is fine last I saw him (Nov) but I will be seeing him again at the SEUSKF board meeting at the end of the month. As far as I know he is still 4dan but I don't know for sure if thats changed. Thanks for the comments David.. I'll add the club. I don't know about the banner but we'll be discussing things at the board meeting so if they want it changed I'll either solicit members to submit a banner, or just do one myself. We want to keep the site relatively clean and simple however and the SEUSKF doesn't really have an official banner right now except for the one that is in the upper left of the site header (same as the SEUSKF tenugui).. The index page is the only one that is not named but I'll change it first chance I get.

Oh, one more thing....For those of you submitting dojo names to be added to the members dojo page, don't fret if it doesn't appear instantly as I have to check on names that are not on the list Parker sensei sent me (which is not completely current, so if your dojo name is not on it it doesn't mean that your dojo is not a member). I am going to try to get a more updated list at the SEUSKF board meeting in a couple weeks. Thanks for your patience.

I just wanted to say that the background color matches the "clean and simple" idea that you talked about, good job.
