Just curious: what budo-related Christmas presents did people get?
I feel so lucky, I got: Sword bag from my parents Jo bag from my grandma two bottles of sake from my friends The Five Rings from Sempai A 'yoga box' which is indirectly related to budo from my brother cos he's knows the problems i have with jodo cos of my back A really nice notebook and pen to write my budo notes in from my Kris Kringle at work And today to top it all off I was surprised when my Chrissy present from Satsumaruma came - A book called The Way of Kendo & Kenjitsu by Darrell Max Craig and a DVD of the Japanese team at the Glasgow Kendo Worlds (plus a wonderful iaido photo of Haruna Sensei performing chiburi). Tee-hee, friends, family and budoka, the latter of which have given me the amazing present these last twelve months of advice and support (and especially my housemate Lexy who picks me up from training and knitted me a scarfe for cold nights in the dojo eight months ago when it was freezing) - you all freaking ROCK! So ta-bananas and here's to a great new year filled with many more budo challenges, triumphs and lessons. |
