Default Starting!!
I just wanted to spread the word [not that many of you know me >.>] But I'd gone to Tucson Kendo Kai, and sat in through a class, and I'm delighted to say that the group was very spirited and the Sensei was eager for my participation. [or so it seemed anyway ^.^; ]

I followed each of the students movements and watched the Sensei and Sempai [sp?] spar each other in Bogu, it was astonishing. I sat there like a zombie for an hour and a half and didn't even realize it. it went by -way- too fast for my taste.

I plan on getting my attire and a decent shinai this weekend and attending as soon as possible.

It will be a long road you'll be going to walk but there will be progress for the ones that practise regulairly.

Almost 2 years ago I started doing kendo myself, it all seemed so much easier then it actually was. It's nice thinking back on the start of this journey.

I am glad you are starting. It is quite the journey

Did your sensei tell you what to buy? If not, don't go out and buy stuff before you are told to. A lot of dojo's start beginners off in normal gym clothes with just a shinai or bukuto. Some clubs will loan out a shinai or loan a bokuto for the first few weeks until you are ready to properly maintain one.
