I started training in Kendo because I heard it was full of advanced thinking people.
I started coming to this forum a year ago, by recomendation, to see how the rest of the world feels about Kendo.

I grew up in the late 60's absorbing the pain caused by racism & ignorance.
I found your link distastefull.

It is, but sometimes Khaw Meng isn't on that bus.

So...lately I'm dying for some food from El Indio, are they still on Washington street down by the airport?

I share your sentiment, but since this is posted in the lounge area. i can't totally over look the entertainment value.

you know how in the cafeteria in high school there are always those kids that likes to be extra loud and want to draw attention to themselves? usually don't do that well in school, and kidna on the less attractive side? well, when those kids do grow up (physically). .. but mentally they'll always be the same kid.

Khaw gave a link to a piece of historic cinematography (that's such a cool word, but I apologise if it's the wrong one). If he was making it up today, it would be distasteful, but it's part of a wider movement of blaxploitation cinema.

I thought it was pretty funny...

Shut up you fkn crybaby. You came here to see how the rest of the world feels and signed up to piss and moan. You don't know Meng and you don't have the right to judge him. If your looking for some club with faultless people kendo is not the place.

If your looking for some club with faultless people kendo is not the place. 1) You made an assumption: I did not judge Meng; he stated he meant no ill intentions.
2) I did not say faultless. I said Advanced thinking people -- Another faulty assumption. An Advanced thinking pearson can & will make mistakes; however, they learn from unwise decisions.
3) I gave a reason why "I" did not like it. The fact of the matter is I didn't have to give a reason why i didn't like it. I did as an explanation. That was another assumption you made.

I understand...it's easy to talk junk & type outburst when you have the internet to hide behind.

My name is at the bottom of my posts. Where's yours?
My pictures are all over this place. Where are yours?
Many people here have met me and know me (for better or for worse). Who are you?

If you ever want to meet up, fine by me. I hide from no one.

While I could not assume to know what it was like in growing up in your shoes, I can certainly say that I've grown up with my fair share of ignorance and racism. Being the only chinese kid in a school of 500 tends to make you a focal point for every arsehole seeking attention.

But come on dude...the clip is like a souped up version of Blazing Saddles...

It is, but sometimes Khaw Meng isn't on that bus.

Yes...its tough when all my walnuts aren't in the same pillowcase...

If you ever want to meet up, fine by me. I hide from no one. Your reading comprehension skills are low.

What i meant was that it's easy for people to type & post anything when they don't have to worry about the feelings of others. When i post, I post as if i were speaking to someone in person. I try to consider what i post, and if it will be offensive or inconsiderate. I try to speak & type ethically. If someone indicates that i may have offended them, i will stop to listen no matter if it's internet forum or in person.

You attacked my opinion with an incorrect assessment; I didn't claim to speak for anyone but myself...and I didn't attack your friend.

Perhaps, instead of watching un-creative editing of an old exploitation movie, you should pick up a book.

Hmmm....well, I can see where anyone can take offence, or feel this post was in ill-taste. Throwing the N word around(eventhough I am not saying anyone was), is a very sensitive thing. And neither can you dismiss it so insensitively, just because it might not offend some people. It doesn't matter if the video is a part of history or not, but just the use of word. People have put their whole lives into disecting "The adventures of Huckleberry finn" to find out whether or not it was a "racist" book because of the use of this word in it.

The N word is extremely taboo, when you hear it, it just calls your attention and makes some people feel extremely uncomfortable, and when someone names a thread "Boss Nigga", its bound to get some critism. Although I did feel our friend could have expressed his discomfort better, rather than insinuate that the people on this board were stupid.

For all those non-americans, dont ever use this word in the States, it can be very dangerous. Just the other day, a cacausion kid said the word while playing basketball, and had a whole bunch of angry black guys about to beat his ass, untill they found out, he was mentally impaired.

BTW, I am not taking sides, and I did thing the video was quite interesting.
