Japanese food.

Which made me think.....yeah! why don't Western restaurants have photos of the food?? Instead, we just get a lousy description of the food!
Somethin' aint right here!
probably because if they did no one would want to eat there :P

Let me ask you one thing.

Do you ever follow cookbook recipes? Do they always look like how they do in the illustration.

Of course they don't.

TBH I am not over bothered about how food 'looks' just as long as it tastes decent and is reasonably healthy. Although I do enjoy the occasional lapse and hit KFC, McD, BK etc.

I note some posts denoting unhealthy food.

Well mateypeeps I suggest that favourite of those delirious under the effects of alcohol....The Donor Kebab.

Is there anything more gross that reconstituted fatty meat from a sheep continuously 'cooking' in front of a hot lamp, swarmed by flies and served with an obscenely hot sauce that makes your teeth melt.

My arteries are clogging just by thinking about this 'delcacy'.

Yeah but I'm not getting paid by the hour... $5 isn't to be sniffed at... ok point.

I'm a veggie and while I was never one for proper meat I always liked things like burgers etc. After "turning" I gotta say theres not much diferrence. Half the taste of a burger or a kebab is the bread, veggies and sauce. The 'meat' in most of the burgers I've ever had was an afterthought.

Really? Oliver, Ramsay, White, Lawson et al all get paid as much as $5 per hour. Wow I wish I had become a celebrity chef who wrote a cookbook

A really good kebab is really good. A crappy one is really crappy.

Chips, cheese and donor meat is my latest favourite unhealthy thing. With lots of ketchup...

Don't forget bashed neeps! I remember going to an exhibition about the great famine here and they showed an Irish peasant's meal at the time. A man would get a plate of 20 potatoes, a woman about 15 and a kid about 10... thats about it, oh and some milk.

We're blessed to have a kebab (we call them Yiros in Adelaide) shop which chargrills their meat. They also do pork yiros and they have been an integral part of many a big night out here in little old Adelaide.

Kebab is the bomb! Best food to eat while drunk. I have 2 favourite kebab joints, one in Crow's Nest called Boris No Worries (yup that's the name of the shop) which serves bloody excellent lamb kebabs, and the other one in a small stall next to Scruffy Murphy the Irish pub.

In fact, I had chicken kebab with the lot on Sunday night.

Allegedly there was a place in Glasgow selling deep fried kebabs, covered in cheese, batter, then deep fried. Until the WHO said it was too unhealthy to be sold...

Why? Is that what killed Keith Moon?

World Health Organisation!

The deep frying thing is one of those rare myths that are actually true. Where I live on Scotland you can buy a slice of deepfried pizza for 50p. It's called a "Scrunchie" and it's just as good as it sounds!
