Yeah, I did notice plenty of typos. Pretty surprising, really, given how many drafts and edits there must have been.

Hmmm, Goblit of Fire was my favorite when I had first read it, prisoner of Azkaban was pretty good, but for some reason, my favorite right now is the "Half blood prince".

I just wish I could get that "feeling" you used to get when reading it as a kid. I started reading them when I was in 8th grade, and for me, where definitly some of the best books of my life, untill I got older. But they are still great books.

That's not the kind of editor I mean. I mean the kind of editor that says "these 200 pages of filler have to go".

I can see how that'd help too. But she had to make it seem like it took up a year somehow (although she didn't do too good of a job at that either).

So what do you give it out of Five stars?

In light that it is a Harry potter book, and is the last of a series, which are allways put under a lot of scrutiny. I have to give her a lot of credit for an amazing series, and a pretty good final book.

4 stars from me.

Well, I bought it the day it came out and I finished it yesterday(im a super nerd).

What did you guys think of the book?
I erased part of your post on purpose. Sorry! I didn't want to see it. Heck, I didn't even read this thread so I wouldn't see anything on the book, because I haven't finished the book. I got it on Saturday, and I've been dragging it out on purpose because if I had let myself, I'd have finished it in one day. I just want to not gobble it up all at once like I did the others, for once. I'm in the middle of chapt. 15 and so far, I'm really enjoying it.
I can't wait until I find out what happens! So, I'll avoid this thread now, until I finish my book and then I'll say what I thought and then read the thread to see what everyone else said(Because I really am curious!), in that order. I don't want to be influenced by what others wrote.

Anyway, happy reading to those still reading it!

Not read it yet but I think you have to read such things in context;

they are nothing like Lord of the Rings
They are not as good as Lord of the Rings
They are not as good as Asian Babes .com

My kids all love watching the Harry Potter films especially my eldest who has a bit of a crush on Hermione.

You should his 13 year old face light up whenever she comes on screen.

Of course, I never ever tease him about this.

Me? Nope? No way? Nooooo.

ahem.

dont spoil the ending for me! im only about halfway through
I heard in the 7th Harry Potter book, Harry has dreams that Hermione dies in illegitimate bastard childbirth, and Voldemort tells him she'll live if he kills everyone in Hogwarts, and then he kills everyone, but Ron Weasley escapes and then chops Harry's legs off and yells "HARRY YOU CHAV YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!"

Two seperate geekdoms there, my friend.
But kudos for combining the two.

The wife and I finished it last night and really enjoyed it. can't say whether an editor chopping 200 pages out of it would make it any better, I suppose it did drag on but I'd rather have those 200 pages knowing there's not going to be any more. Until the encyclopedia that is.

Funnily enough we had a guy reading it before practice. Can't say I'd have done that myself, a kendo book perhaps, but each to their own they are compelling.

...not the kids.
I have no idea what that is supposed to say... Have mercy with the non-natives!

I couldn't buy it till Tuesday, because I was on a Iaido seminar from Thursday till late Monday. (Passed sankyu on Sunday. )
Was no problem, though, because I had neither radio, TV, internet nor newspaper to spoil the fun.

Oh, and I fully agree with dwez!
