mine is a song of a band called anathema:

anathema - inner silence

When the silence beckons,
And the day draws to a close,
When the light of your life sighs,
And love dies in your eyes,
Only then will I realise,
What you mean to me.

------------------
i use this nick in honour of a close friend/kenshi that died in a fire arm "accident" a couple of years ago

Hey, i leave KWF for 24h, and when I'm back, my thread has been stolen !!

My avatar: a Tux for Linux (Microsoft is Evil!) and from the Dark side for the laser sabre. I think I'll change the avatar when I'll got my own bogu (in the next 4 weeks).
My user title: "battle geek": I'm half-geek half-kendoist/kenshi/kendoer/kendoka.

I generally choose my avatar (and signatures when available) if it has a good chance to provide a larf for people seeing it.

My current one is the Bad Guy from Command & Conquer series: "Kane"....and my signature is a play on words since I study Jodo (using a "stick")..and of course "Kane" is pronounced the same as the walking-stick "Cane"...

My Avatar is the crazy cactuar from Final Fantasy, itīs almost an institution between my friends, so I adopted it, I think Iīll change it when I get bored, and the user title I have as many may have noticed is another quote from toolīs lateralus.

Ah, well, I play guitar (heavy metal) back in my college days and I had a habit of snapping the bass E string a lot while chugging away. That, along with my slightly crazy playing style, caused my instructor to remark one day, "Jesus Gareth, you're just some type Shred Lord aren't you". It stuck.
When I just started learning to play I was playing in a punk band and each time we practised I'd break that Top E string, each time getting a thicker one still breaking it until the guy at the guitar shop asked me why I didn't put bass strings on so I wouldn't break them as fast.

To which I replied "Why don't I work on my strumming technique so I don't break a string each time we practise for an hour or 2"

I surely worked on it, by now I sadly enough haven't played for about 3 maybe already 4 years, thinking about picking it up again.

My avatar picture was after I got back from the hairstylist and got a totally new cut. My gf who calls me goofball every now and then when I'm being silly thought it was time for me to get a real haircut instead of what I had.

My conversation with the hairdresser went like this.
Me "Hi"
HD "Hello. how would you like it?"
Me "Just make it shorter"
HD "Oke"

I must admit it takes more work now but shaving it all off was out of the question:-)
I know one day she'll tell me to shave it as I'm loosing more and more hair each day.

My Avatars, so far, have all been Characters/Entities whose ideals have inspired me. Astroboy is my childhood hero, some of my 1st memories are of being in awe of Astroboy on the TV. We could only get 1 or 2 TV stations at that time and place (geographically), so it was a big thing and he made a big impression on me from a very young age.

The other Avatars I have had were Bishamon and Fudo-myo, and again they are Beings that have morally inspired me and awed me. They have all been something I can look up to, unfortunately I am all too Human and can only aim to be as "just" as them. I have a long way to go.

Same as my user name, it is just a state of mind I can aspire to. I chose that when I finally joined KW because it was a term I had been thinking about, something that rang true in my mind. Hopefully I can "exist" with the same tenacity that my Avatars and Username portray in life and Kendo.

Bah! Who could!?!??! Tool = musical awesomeness! And as for Drop-D tuning, that's a nice start....I suppose. Drop B is better! Hehe, actually I rarely go that far..... only when the need for playing a Slipknot song arises. I prefer Drop-C on my guitar. Bigtime System of a Down fan.

To join in on the thread, sadly I don't have an avatar added yet. But as for my user name, well one of my fav bands used to be Zao, a christian metal band. And I started using the name for various online game names at the age of 18, hence the frequently used user name "Zao18".
