Default Tribute Bands
I was listening to the radio a few days ago ( not something I am prone to do given how much drivel they play) and they were playing songs by Tribute bands. So the Bootleg Beatles (the Beatles) and Bjorn Again (ABBA) amongst many others got some air time.

They then had a phone in for people to suggest imaginative names for Tribute Bands.

Just wondered if anyone has been in a tribute band and what name they used OR if they would've liked to have been in one and what name they would've come up with.

I personally think Bjorn Again is about as good as it gets as names go -anyone got better?

real famous finnish bunch: apocalyptica, they do cello covers of metallica and various other metal bands.

around here we have

"Whole lotta led"

My mate's one: "iron midden"

there's another maiden tribute band... they play some metallica too, what are they called.... emmm.. oh yeah, trivium.

I dunno, just making some up..."oyster marmalade", "who the F is alice, in chains?", "wireless heid", "twice as dangerous", "dark sunday"...

take a guess at what you think the actual bands are....

Best I ever saw (and I think he's still around) is a Sikh Elvis impersonator. Sequinned jumpsuits with matching turban.
His name?

Wait for it......

'Patelvis'

Wouldn't that be wonderful. A band with all that hairspray on their poodle hairdoos, PVC pants so tight that they have squeezed their dangly bits back inside themselves, and so much make up on that Max Factor overtakes Bill gates in the affluence stakes.....and they come up with a name which has "mild" in the title.

Absolute class. Posrep for you mate

Not a cover band per se... My mate's dad was in a ceilidh band..

A ceilidh is a traditional scottish party, it is pronounced "kay-lay"

His band was "The red hot ceilidh peppers"

But "Myld Stallions"! That's brilliant!

The "Rolling Menhirs" were a fictional cover band who appeared in one of the Asterix comics...

I've had many urges to put together a Nightwish cover band, mainly because I can find people that fit the bill for it. Not to mention it'd be a hell of a lotta fun.

Today i tried to put on some pants and they didn't fit anymore. I instantly thought of calling a band Thick Lizzy.

I need something to occupy my mind.

another one called "h-sur" means "southern hemisphery", also its "rush" upside down, a rush tribute

there is an argentinian band called "god save the queen" its a queen tribute, the singer its like frediie mercury's lost twin brother

The first "dunno" is Alice In Chains, the second...er...I dunno either. Put us out of our misery, Jo.

Most of the tribute bands I've seen have had wildly unimaginative names but there were one or two good'uns (Nearvana being one of them).

I used to be in a cover band called Maim That Tune. Does that count?

Jeez that was a long time ago... I think the second "dunno" was "Double Trouble" SRV's band. Pretty lame suggestion. hehe.

"eilert pilar" you tube it if you really want to hear someone trashing old elvis classics. He even sold quite a few cover albums, I keep wondering how he did it?
