Default Battlestar Galactica season 4
Wouhou! I'm gonna click the "play" button as soon as I have clicked the "submit new thread button". Just to say that I'm glad that this season is going to have a definitive end: unfinished series going throw 12 seasons are always problems with strange plots around season 5...

I'm not sure it is worth a thread, but hey, it has been months since the last thread I started...

I'll know in less than an hour if this season is going to be crap like I'm afraid it will be after the last episode of season 3.

EDIT: I still have the time to edit my post, and I'm already amazed...

I just watched it and I have missed this show so much!!! I am going to cry when it's over. This has been one of the best scifi shows on since scifi nowadays tends to either be excellent or crappy.

On the local network on my campus, so I can't pass it to you. Mininova has some torrents pointing to it, with enough seeders to have a correct download speed and both in high and low quality. You can probably find it on any other peer to peer network.

BTW, there are subtitles out too.

This is one reason why I hate not having cable/satellite TV.

I rent the seasons prior from Netflix, one blessed DVD at a time!

BUT...and this is a big BUT...as a fan of BG:TOS in my youth, I had a hard time wrapping my head around the concept of Lt. Starbuck being a girl.

Yeah, but KS has been great as Starbuck.

Lots of series 3 was very weak, it got better the last 2 episodes, but there were several episodes that weren't up to standard, and Razor didn't seem to fit the established time line very well, and the CG was lacking.

The first 2 series were very good.

If they don't go out Blake's 7 style and cop out at the end I'll be very disappointed.

Got to see it last Friday on Space.....I've loved the series from its inception...and I have mixed feelings about it going. Certainly there has to finality, but man...its only four seasons....sigh. I loved and hated the season opener all at the same time, I wish it had been a two hour event, would've allowed a lot more things to come to light.

Any one got picks on the final cylon? Starbucks too obvious ( unless thats the plan) Baltar is to obvious as well in my thinking.....so who then......certainly no one suspected Tigh or the Chief as being cylons......so should we be thinking of someone whos a secondary character to take that spot? Would be a surprise........how about Helo? That would mean the cylons had been able to reproduce all along.....leads to some interesting possibilities....

Razor was by far the worst episode of the serie. The scenario can fit on a postage stamp.

its only four seasons....
Actually, I'm glad there will be an end. Anybody here saw some of Stargate 6xx and after? That's what I would call a zombie: it should have died years before.

I didn't mind Razor, yet thought it was wrapped up to quickly as well...should've been a two parter at least....four hours would've alotted more time to develop it.

And Stargate...I was ok with it till (but yes there were some stinker episodes) Season 8...then it was just tripe.....and season 9 and 10.....complete crap. Only redeeming thing in the last season was the uber hot leader of the "Ori". Atlantis however started as dreck and turned a real corner, I actually enjoy it more than the original series.

The thing about Razor is that it is just being used to set up another plot point for series 4 with the other Cylon fraction. The fact that it was set midway through series 3 and there had been no mention of most of the events kind of killed it. I started thinking I missed a load of the series.

The industrial dispute episode in series 3 was just complete pony.

Stargate Atlantis is good. That season just ended, now Battlestar is starting. What I'm really waiting for is the Star Wars live-action series (and the new animated)!

Stargate SG1 was just going on and on to make money - it was like flogging a dead horse. The "movie" they made to complete the series could have just been done as a final episode and not make people wait that long for such a crappy show (nor rent or buy it). The beauties of capitalism ...

Anyway, I'm glad BSG is finally back on - even if they will take a break till the later autumn ...

I thought the same thing, then recently I went back and re-watched the whole season in two nights, and I loved it all.

And so it ends... great finale, this series has set the bar pretty "fracking" high, sometimes all the good ingredients come together in the right place at the right moment to give birth to an awesome work of art which was the case for BSG IMO.
How did you guys find the series finale?

I usually watch it whilst doing the ironing but last night there wasn't enough to make it worthwhile. I sat down just intending to sit and watch the whole thing and enjoy the experience. Within a couple of minutes the youngest one was waking up coughing, spluttering and crying. Bang went my evening. The wife wasn't going to appreciate me sat downstairs for nye on 3 hours absorbed in a galaxy far far away (so to speak) whilst she comforted our second born. So I pressed record on the video (that's right we're still not digital in our home recording system yet). Therefore I am blessed with the power to fast forward through the ads when I do come to watch it but cursed with a really crap picture and sound so muddy even Cillit Bang couldn't clean it up.

I'm still not entirely sure if it's all been a bit to high-brow for me, unbelievable as it seems. There's clearly been a lot that's been clever about it but to be honest I'd have liked a few more centurions being blasted. I think I preferred Space Above and Beyond but I should imagine that looks incredibly dated by today's standards. Anyway I stuck with Galactica and I'm glad, hopefully I can say the same when Lost thankfully comes to an end. Meanwhile I may have given up all hope on Heroes...

You can't but answer the call when it comes to your child, hope he/she's doing well.

What struck me with BSG is how the writers used scifi to discuss many real matters, politics, religion, ethics...etc a bit like Star Trek but without using two many races to get the message across.
As for Lost, i remember seing the first episode when i was in Canada but i wasn't hooked and all the hype about it didn't help.
I agree about heroes, seems like the writers don't have a clue where they're going with the story.

As for the final episode - Thought the first hour was great, and the second hour was self indulgent crap. Really thought they'd grown some nuts and was going to make a really memorable ending a la Blakes 7. Instead it was a pretty dull hour of goodbye and thank you's.

Just expected more from a great great show.

I have to admit that the last episode made me very emotional.... a lump in my throat was present.... It was hardly "self-indulgent", it was essential to fully fulfill the prophecy. It all happened before and will happen again.

What I think is really really cool about it is that they had their story; told their story and boom that's it: NO MORE BATTLESTAR. No fillers, no dragging it out over 9 seasons; just telling the story... although i hear there is going to be another series set on caprica before the fall (not the autumn )

Good actors, great story, great effects... It's safely been one of the best TV shows ever made. The first two seasons alone blow most contemporary scifi out of the water... I am so glad I decided to start watching it when I did.
As far as show endings goes, I reckon any sci fi is going to have to do something pretty ace to beat "All good things..."

Frak all you nay-sayers.

I'm predicting that Heroes is about to turn awesome but it's been f*cking sh*te the past few episodes... god knows what they are playing at giving the blonde so much screen time; why is she always showing her teeth and no matter the circumstances she is out of breath... oh "acting" is it? Well, she might not be quite so bad at acting as she is at singing...

Lost is awesome too.

And i'm pretty chuffed that Reaper is back on too, quite like that show; fills my Whedon craving (despite it being K. Smith)

Any of you catch any episodes of "Earth: Final Conflict"? What in the f*ck is that show about? What a piece of s*it.
