Eek !! not a complete geek...where is everything, where's my flag ?? (I too thought I was on the wrong Forum...)

Whilst it looks cleaner, I think that's the colour scheme and brightness - old scheme was darker.. this is so bright and therefore looks shinny.

But what's with all the google.ads ?!

I will have to suss this out later...more hours spent in dojo than on internet - honestly ;-) but hey like FB its free, so we can't really complain...

Lessee: Double-stacked ads take up way too much space at the top, navigation between different fora is difficult to figure out, "vBulletin" header needs to be more KWF-like, and the header fonts too big. That's my first read on it. Suppose I'll get used to things, but preferred the old site...

Sorry to dissent as well. While I think the the job done by the Kendo World staff is fantastic, the new interface looks like another Microsoft product. Too much blue and gray. Tried changing it to no avail in the browser tools.
Hi Curtis, we will be changing the style to match the old one. Just like a new set of Bogu, it starts off nice and shiny, but pretty soon ends up as crusty and smelly as the old set!

Well………
I don’t know what to say. It looks….ammm…different. Like everyone else fist I had the impression that it was the wrong forum
Ammm…guys …the new forum doesn’t mix too well with Internet Explorer.
I mean I’ve tried to read my PM-s three times already and it gets stuck when I try to select one message…It’s my work computer and it’s really old and rusty. At home with Mozilla it worked

The top advert will be replaced with a Kendo World banner, and the second one tightened up a bit and will rotate as the previous one did, but we had to get both our main sponsors ads displaying immediately, since they pay the bills (well, some of the bills at least!) and the Google ads will be reduced in prominence also. They will also show differently for different users, ie. yudansha will see less ads than guests or new users. In general, it is a bit too spaced out for my liking also, which I think is backed up by a number of people's opinions?

I also want my flags back, they're the first thing on the list for me!

Where is the bit at the bottomw which allows you to go back to the main pages.
How do you go back?
The quick links are still there, just down and to the left of 'moderation tools' in the bottom left, just below the bottom post. Click on the 'lounge' text. This will also take you to your PMs as well, or to any forum you wish as you scroll further down. Clicking on the page number next to the menu should take you back, or the back button on your browser. is that what you mean?

I am sure I will become accustomed to this 'new look'.......... but, currently, intently dislike it!

Is it just me...... or is there a great deal more advertising........?

It looks fancy, but some of the board links seem to be going to chibabogu instead of their intended destination :P
That's fixed now. missed a trailing in the ad code above it, same thing casued the 'reply to thread' button not to work, and the forum announcement link not to work.

Yes Scott, mostly around the blogs and other content areas of the site that didn't really get the attention they deserved, bringing the forums and the news/free articles/You Tube videos and so forth more into the spotlight, and in one place. But also the books and magazines that keep the forums going need to be a bigger focus, as we still have a lot of people who come for the forums, and don't realise we have a whole lot more resources here.

Some rough structure of the overall CMS system will be going up in the next week or so, with migrated content to follow not too long afterwards. We also have updated store software in the works to make purchasing our wares more user friendly!! We haven't got the time or resources to do a big bang update, so it will be in bits and pieces over the next month or so.

Think of it as adding a few rooms and knocking down some walls in that second home. The paint job on the forums will happen sooner rather than later, however.
