kanji for kendo terms
I am looking for kanji vs. romanji for kendo terms. Kanji helps relate and understand when I hear it in Japanese (romanji). Anybody?
|
Go here, buy this. I own 2 of them, one at home, one at work.

before the book arrives, can someone tell me what is kensen in kanji?
|
剣先
剣 ken - Sword 先 sen - Before, past, etc, like in "sensei". Sort of translates to "end/tip of sword". "Kensen" can also be read as "kensaki". |
I usually see "kensen" written 剣尖. Sword+point/sharp. 剣先 is, in my experience, usually read kensaki. While saki means ahead, etc., it is also the normal word for the end of things: pencils, rulers, sticks, or pretty much anything else with an "end" or "tip".

Is the other more related to swords than shinai/bokuto? |
Thanks for all the replies. From the sound of it, I thought it was 剣线, messes my head up. It makes more sense now.
