Save the p2p efforts for things that are otherwise unavailable.
You apparently have not heard the news.

The long and the short of it is...
Isp's see the high consumer desire for content, and they want to start supplying it to you for a fee.
You go though the ISP's for your torrents.
That's going to cut into their bottom line.

Say goodbye to free content.

Providing those "other things" are under the jurisdiction of the RIAA, and you flaunt your real IP address.

The RIAA is pretty much out of it..It's a "Can't beat 'em, join 'em." sort of thing.

It'll be more like this:
The ISP will make deals with content providers to deliver the stuff to you directly. Movies, Porn, Games, etc...
Which means, if they are selling you "The Dark Knight" or the latest installment of 'Prince of Perisa' as direct download-able content, you better believe they will be monitoring your IP (which blocks they provide) because it's at that point, not an annoyance, but rather competition.
They're pretty cool about it now...they send a letter of warning, then they throttle, then they cut you off.
Of course, in about 5 years, with the emergence of Utility Computing companies, you'll be cut off all together (from file sharing).
At that point, it'll be as if the RIAA IS your ISP.

I'll see your Walker, Texas Ranger, and raise you

2 BJ and the Bears and 1 Manimal.
I see your BJ and your Manimal, and I raise you CHiPs and Knight Rider (NOT the **UGH** second reincarnation circa 2008).

And to quote Queen Amidala from "Star Wars II:Attack of The Clones":

"And so, this is how freedom dies.... to thunderous applause."

Jeez, Kenzan! You are so, like, TOTALLY INFECTED! Seek help right away! American TV is toxic. I should know - I still recognize every name and episode. But I am in recovery now - I only watch Japanese games shows 24-7.

Guys if you truly want to get US TV from abroad I have found out how to do it. You'll need a VPN and it's very easy to set up. Then once you get that going you can use a media server that'll access lots of cool shows. There's even a station called Ultimate Fighter. Check out this video below on how to set it up your computer, iPhone or TV today.

I was hoping that if someone were to resurrect a 2+ year old thread, they would have a really good reason to do so :-(
