+1 to Throne of Blood. I heard somewhere that it was T.S. Eliot's favourite film*, which, if it were true, would be pretty cool. Awesome use of mist to obscure/reveal. Black and white film at its best.

Apropos "Ran", you should seek out Chris Marker's documentary on the making of it. Fascinating stuff. Knew a Japanese kendoka who was an extra in the battle scenes when she was still in high school. b

* Here we go, Derek Malcolm said so in the Guardian, so it must be true.

I've been watching this show recently. Lots of kendo in it:

Pretty interesting history too.
Started watching it, it's pretty good and dramatical!

Terminator's a better suspense film, but Arnold's acting in Conan was his best.
Ahnold the Governator can act?

I watched Taboo (GOHATTO) and the ending was a little odd, so did kono/sobo get killed then?

Yes and the story and the characters are so moving I nearly cried. Oddly, Arnold hasn't acted since or before, how bizzare.

James Earl Jones turning into a snake and making ladies jump off of buildings was pretty cool.

oh my(!), I liked the movie: Taboo (GOHATTO).
A surprisingly interesting sword fighting historical/cultural film.

The Hunted with Christopher Lambert (Highlander guy).
It can't compare to a Kurosawa film but the train scene with the sword master fighting a bunch of ninjas is pretty cool.
