Default West Australian & Sunday Times > We want far better reporting of WAFL matches!!!!
Message to the West Australian & Sunday Times Newspapers ...... We want far more comprehensive reporting of WAFL matches in your papers , this competition provides top-line young players to the AFL (read VFL) system and as such DESERVES far far better than the meagre offerings that are served up each week.

LIFT YA GAME YA MUGS - WAKE UP and give this competition some more respect please!

Signed - one pissed off Southerner!

The way it is these days Southener, the AFL is king and by a long way. People crave that info & its hard for us traditionalists the accept but thats a reality.

Having said that the Sunday Times did lift their match reviews last year and the match reports were slightly bigger. I would love it if they could include the colts and reserves scores on the same page as to make it a complete overall WAFL report. At least we get something to look at on a Sunday morning. Its better than nothing.

The West definently improved their Monday reports last year. We crave more but again its better than nothing. The WAFL is getting a slightly better recognition and its probably helped by the ABCTV contribution. That scource goes statewide and live every Saturday & they give a fantastic coverage.

I would still love to see the papers go back to the "National Scoreboard" where they had the AFL quarter by quarter scores and ladders, followed by the local WAFL scores and ladders (incl ressies & colts) and then the SANFL details albiet not as in depth. To have everything on the one page is far easier to digest and far better presented for the overall footy follower. Its even handy for the AFL followers who want to know how some of their players in the WAFL went. Hope they consider such a format that worked so well for many years.

I must commend the West for the WAFL wrap in todays Monday print.

Excellent content in the summaries, and the reporting was very good. I know many are generall quick to bag them, but there was nothing negative about what was put out. All games covered well, scores and details clear & leading goalkickers etc.

well done.

Didnt see the Sunday Times but will have a look next week.

With all but a full round of AFL fixtures Gas, you may need a magnifying glass.

Better than nothing boys. They could go down that path one day. Im thankful for anything these days. It gets 2 pages worth which is more than the A-League gets. And the match summaries were once almost a single paragraph. Its nothing like that anymore.
