I know it's probably looked down on in these parts, but congrats to Big Bob Johnson on his induction to the Hall of Fame tonight. Dennis Cometti's commentary may be on the wane, but it's hard not to think that he didn't lobby hard for Johnson's induction.
Huge congrats to Barry Cable - 24th 'Legend'. Whatever you think of the Hall of Fame, it's an unbelievable honour - and about damn time too! Now, how about the following for induction? Bernie Naylor Austin Robertson Jr Ted Tyson Mel Whinnen Brian Peake Gary Buckenara Graham Melrose ...and dozens more |

Bucky's exclusion is amazingly hard to fathom.
I know there's a huge lobby for Bomber Peake to get in, and the word is that there's a SANFL player one year, WAFL player the next deal which goes on so Peake might get his year next year, but hopefully Bucky gets the call as well. They've been pretty good inducting WA greats, but it just seems odd that three of our four highest goalscorers aren't in there. |

Bucky's exclusion is amazingly hard to fathom. In that regard, its good to do a few every year & give us time to savour each players acheivements. We can all get a bit precious over this thing, but the way they filter these players in bit by bit is the right way to do it. Just because someone has been overlooked, doesnt mean they will never get in. People need to relax and stop this rush, rush, rush attitude. Its what make the Hall of Fame so significant. |

What people must realise too is that they need to space out inductee's into this Hall of Fame. They cant induct everyone first up, otherwise there will be nothing left to induct. But I guess that's what the Hall of Fame is supposed to do in part - get people talking about retired footballers. |

Definitely understand that, but if anyone tries to tell me that Mark Bickley deserved his induction in the Hall of Fame before Gary Buckenara... well that would just start an argument. Players like Bickley should wait in line thats for sure. It does appear common sense is not part of the selection constitution. That can get up peoples noses & always will. |

look buckenara was an outstanding player for subi, hawthorn and wa. he played in 4 premiership teams whilst at hawthorn and he is remembered more for that than individual awards. 150 vlf games 300 goals in an outstanding team - if he had gone to footscray and never played in a final would we call him a legend. barry cable has only just been inducted. there is plenty of players from wa you can make a case for ahead of a half foward flanker. |

You do realise Barry Cable has been in the AFL Hall of Fame since the inaugural intake in 1996 he was elevated to legend status this week. Buckenara for some reason isnt in the Hall of Fame as yet, im not saying he should be made a Legend! |
