Default Official 2006 NBA off-season thread!
Well Free agents can now talk, but cant be signed till July 12. Post news when you see it, unless its been posted already

July 1st
- Milwaukee Bucks trade T.J. Ford to the Toronto Raptors for Charlie Villanueva
- Dallas signs first-round pick Maurice Ager.
- Toronto signs first-round pick Andrea Bargnani.

Rumors
- Tim Thomas will sign with Clippers
- Vladmir Radmanovic will sign with Lakers
- Peja Stojakovic will sign with Hornets
- Carmello Anthony will accept an 80 mil deal to stay with Denver
- Jason Terry will agree to sign a 6 year deal to stay in Dallas
- Eddie House opts out to become a FA from the Suns.
- A trade might happen that would involve Darrius Miles going to Minny for Marco Jaric.
- A trade might happen that would send Allen iverson to the Twolves in return for Randy Foye plus others. Philly seems really interested in getting Foye if they move Iverson.
- A trade might happen that would send Rudy Gay and Stromile Swift to Memphis for Shane Battier, not sure if there is more to this deal.
- Ben Wallace, who is a FA, is going to visit Chicago.

That Houston/Memphis trade is official from what i've read. For whatever reason neither teams official roster has changed though.

Rumors
- Pistons offered Ben Wallace 4yrs/48mil, looks like Chicago could lure him in for more money.
- Bulls trade Tyson Chandler to the New Orlean Hornets for Jr Smith and Pj Brown.
- Bobby Jackson going to sign with New Orlean Hornets
- Nene is going to resign with the Nuggets

sounds like good moves for chicago, they are really doing a great job building a team, and they are fun to watch already!

^^ I heard that as well. 7th Number I do agree, the Bulls are doing an amazing job of rebuilding there team, man Tyson Chandler for JR Smith and P.J Brown, that is a rediculous trade. Wow. The bulls imo are getting two above average players for one slightly above average player. I thought P.J did a great job for the hornets over the passed two years, although he has his scoring problems.

I actually do hope Big Ben goes elsewhere, I think it would be good for him to go somewheres else, and show Detroit what basketball without him is. He's clearly the best defensive big man in the game, and for them not to give him a mega-contract like 15+ is kind of a slap in the face, considering the garbage money he's been playing for since he got into the league.
(Talking from a greedy nba players point of view)

But without a doubt I'm very interested in this off season. I think there's going to be more shifting around then ever.

Ben Wallace has deal with Bulls
A league source tells ESPN.com that Ben Wallace has informed the Detroit Pistons that he is leaving the team and has accepted an offer from the Chicago Bulls thought to be worth $52 million over four years. WOW BABY!

Well it appears that the bulls will have a pretty solid team next year after pickin up Tyrus Thomas in the draft and now adding Ben Wallace. Should definitely be interesting to see how else the events unfold during this off season.

Totally agreed.. Wow, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Ben Wallace, Tyrus Thomas, Kirk Hinrich, Chris Duhon, Sweeteny and Nocioni? Are You kidding me!

Man I think the bulls could be the next dominant team in the league.

for sure man, bad move for us, but it seems our roster is always changing, but we always get far, so i hope we get really far this year

as for the bulls, amazing job building up their roster with the 2 hornets and Wallace, if im not mistaken they have 2 Four Year Defensive players of the year on their team, cause last time i checked Mutombua(sp?) was on the bulls.

BUT that being said, thats what we said about Miami last year building up their roster, so who knows.

I'm heartbroken that Wallace chose 15Mil a year over the Pistons who were offering roughly 13.2Mil or so a year. I mean, he was MADE in Detroit and Detroit still has a better shot at going to the Finals then the Bulls (though they are on the rise).

-The Miami Heat have signed undrafted West Virginia guard Mike Gansey to a 2 year deal (this is a steal imo)

- Portland has signed rookies Brandon Roy and Lemarcus Aldridge to contracts and have come to terms with Joel Przybilla for a 4 year $24 million contract.
- Boston has signed their #1 pick Rajon Rondo
- The Pistons have signed Nazr Mohammed to a 5 year $30 million contract. (Ben who? )
- That Bulls-Hornets trade may not go down (although it is probably more likely to occur than this one), as the Bulls are trying to create a package to make a run at Kevin Garnett. One reported possible deal could include a package of Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, Tyson Chandler and a 1st round pick. However, this is just a rumor.
- Dwyane Wade has agreed to a maximum extension with the Heat, which is valued at 5 years and $80 million
