Seergazhi Govindarajan and before him, CS Jeyaraman are kings of asiriri songs.

One of my fav is kOttaiyilE oru Alamaram from Muradan Muthu. Can't find it in youtube.

I understand with this quote that the song should not be a forced one in a film, rather the audience should not know when the song started. The song should also carry the story with it. I believe it is not just without lip sync. There are hundreds of songs without lip sync. Even there can be song with lip sync and still they can be close to real. If I am right, few songs mentioned here may not satisfy the thread criteria, especially those MGR songs and even salangai oli or Indian songs or even the Subramaniapuram songs and that takes the beauty out of this concept and thread. Please correct me if I am wrong.

+1, all those "dream songs" "foreign songs" etc may not belong here, IMHO
(thread originator, venkkiram, to correct if not so)

BTW, I feel three songs of moonRam piRai fit the objective of the thread either way :

a) kaNNE kalai mAnE - thAlAttu is the most real-life form of all TFM, IMVSO. An average TN home cannot survive without this form of singing.

b) poongARRu pudhidhAnadhu - montage song that catches real life incidents unobtrusively, establishes the budding relationship between the nAyakan-nAyaki, contributes to the main theme of the movie, not a "deliberately-inserted-one".

c) narikkadhai (munna oru kAlaththula) - "kadhai solluRadhu" is as prevalent as thAlAttu in an average TN household. And music being a part of TN culture (iyal-isai-nAdakam), singing jocularly while telling story is such an everyday happening per my observation.

BTW, to compensate all these reality, BM did that nonsense 'pon mEni'

'vAnengum thanga viNmeenkaL' too is not very much off the mark, even during 80's there were affluent students who enjoyed such outings...and it's probably more common nowadays...

மிகவும் சரி V_S, app_engine.
