STR's Vaalu villain is a big star! The latest trend in the industry is taking up negative roles and it seems nearly everyone from the Southern film industry is into it. Kannada superstar, Sudeep has won accolades for playing the villain in the season's smash hit, Eega or Naan Ee in Tamil. Now it is the turn of yet another Kannada actor to make a mark as a bad guy. Adithya, a famous Kannada star has agreed to be STR's antagonist in Vaalu. The actor is happy with the role and feels it will be the perfect chance to showcase his versatility. He said, "Yes, I have signed the film and will start shooting for it from next week in Hyderabad. Bad boys seem to be in demand and it looks like playing the baddie is the in thing right now." |

Simbu banks on humour
Simbu's Vaalu has taken off and people are wondering how his combination with Santhanam will pan out. Sources state that Vaalu will be a quickie and may even release before the actor's action flick Vettai Mannan. Says Simbu, "Yes, we'll be finishing work on Vaalu and release it for Deepavali. As it's a proper Chennai script, we'll be shooting majority of the talkie portions in the city only." He adds, "I loved the script as it was had a very simple and humorous approach and was very different from the genres (romance and action) that I'm currently doing." A couple of dialogues (especially a similar one from Padikathavan) in the comic flick have created a stir among fans as it comes across like the actor's hitting out at Dhanush. Quiz Simbu about this and he says, "It's nothing like that; it's just part of the dialogues in the film." A slight delay in the schedule of his Vettai Mannan has brought Vaalu to the forefront. "We're done with 50 percent of the film but have to shoot abroad," he explains, "That'll be a 25-day schedule and should happen sometime in August. So before that, we'll finish most of Vaalu." |
